Default Huntington Beach 2019

Gary & Vicki, Al & Patti, Lisa & myself discussed the possibility of attending Factory Five's event next year as a group.
I spoke with Sally at Factory Five today. Nothing is final yet, but she was going to call the City to see if she would be able to set up the last Saturday of April for next year. She said she would call and let me know, when she does.
Sally said, they reserve rooms at Shore Break Hotel. They are 1 block away from the event and have underground parking with security.
I will follow up when I know more.
Who else might be interested?
Mark

Thanks Mark. If memory serves me Mike Brassfield is the DJ for the event and several others usually attend. Should be a great get together for sure. GAry

Don't have a FF but might just go for the heck of it, good group, nice venue and haven't been to Kalifornia in awhile.

I'll have to talk to Sally. I'd like to move the vent next year to the Saturday before the Fabulous Fords show. That's usually about 2 weeks sooner, in the middle of April.

I heard from Sally at Factory Five yesterday. The event will be 4/27. I will get with Paul in a few days, hopefully and start working out the details.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather.
Mark

Also, Lisa got her GT350 from Sanderson Wednesday.

Does Lisa's 350 have 3 pedals? Will she let you drive it?

Yes, 3 pedals, 6 speed is the only option. I was the second one to drive it.

I don’t think it’s going to happen. She would have to read the manual to learn how to turn the traction control off. LOL

I am winding down form the wedding and getting on planning for the Factory Five event. The event is Saturday 4/27/19 (427) and Dave Hodgkins hosts a BBQ Friday evening.
We would leave Phoenix as a group Friday 7AM somewhere East of I-10 and Loop 101, Circle K on Litchfield N of 101 sounds good. For the return, Paul recommends leaving Sunday 7:30-8:00 to beat the heat.
I checked with FFR and they do not plan to block out rooms until after the first of the year. They will be at the Shorebreak next to the event. Room rates without discount are $982 QQ ocean side (street side unavailable) and $1028 K ocean side ($120 less for street side) for both nights and includes taxes, fees, and underground parking with security. I do not anticipate a big discount through FFR, but who knows.
I know it is pricey, I am willing to pay to be on the ocean this one time, but I would like to keep the group together. Paul said there are plenty of options within 3 blocks (walking distance), but I think getting under $200 a night may be tough. That said, of those interested in going, what is your max budget for both days including room, taxes, fees, and parking?
Mark

In case that hotel price sounds high to you, check out Expedia for Huntington Beach hotels. Lots are just as close and a lot cheaper.

Mark, the two times I went to HB, a bunch of us stayed six or 8 miles away from the show site, at the Best Western Regency, for a whole lot less than what you looked at. Of course, there's no beach and the place is clean, but not fancy. I assume they would still let Cobras come, but I know that they were pretty well torqued when many of their guests *****ed about when I started up my Copper car. At least my tiny little Ford engine is nowhere near as loud.

Bear in mind, the following weekend, 05/03-05/19 is the Rt 66 Fun run. At least they are not on the same weekend, this time.

I have not received much feedback about Huntington Beach the weekend of 4/27. Who would commit to going, before I look into finding rooms? What price point is palatable for the rooms?
Thanks,
Mark
