2020 Route 66 Fun Run Cancelled

This is directly from the historic66az.com website and already posted on our FaceBook group.
33rd Annual Fun Run to be Held in 2021
In order to follow the CDC‘s and Governor Ducey’s guidelines about gatherings within the next 8 weeks, the Fun Run committee has elected to cancel this year‘s event.

All registrants currently signed up to participate in the 2020 Fun Run will have their registration transferred to 2021 Fun Run to be held April 30 – May 2, 2021. You do not need to contact us in order to transfer your registration. All participants already registered for the 34th Annual Fun Run will have their registration transferred to 2022.

If you are unable to attend you could consider you registration fee a donation to the Association. If you cannot attend or do not want to donate your $55 and would like a refund, please email nikki@historic66az.com with your name and mailing address. We are experiencing a high call volume, so email is the preferred method of communication.

We thank you for your understanding and patience. We are already looking forward to celebrating Historic Route 66 with everyone in 2021!

Well that just sucks!

It is truely unfortunate, while most likely necessary/responsible.
Remember to cancel your reservations. I will wait a couple of weeks to see if anything changes..

Actually, I was thinking about coming out this year. That's too bad. The one question that I have concerns the car I was bringing, a '55 Chevy. The problem is that it has steep rear gears, 4.56's, and I'm guessing there is a lot of highway driving, which is great, but not for this car. Are there major gatherings along the way, car cruises, shows ? Or is it just alot of driving ? Does anybody else trailer their car instead of drive it ?

FYI I just talked to a nice lady at the Red Roof Inn to cancel my reservation for the Fun Run, I told her I was a Cobra Club member and she said due to the cancellation of the 2020 Fun Run they have cancelled all the car club reservations for the Route 66 Fun Run this year. You all might want to check to make sure but it looks like they have already cancelled the reservations for all of us.

Keith, I called just yesterday and there was no mention by the desk. Do not assume your reservation was cancelled. Mine is.

So sad to hear it has been canceled. I'll call to cancel my room. I guess we should be thankful we are only canceling car shows. When you think of what others are dealing with.

I just called to cancel, and the reservation was still in place. Please make sure to cancel, if you haven't already.

Always good to check, I have a cancellation number so I know mine has been cancelled.

I checked my reservation, this morning, and mine had been canceled by Scotty, a couple weeks ago. The lady I spoke with remembered our names.

Katlos, How could anyone forget you & Scotty, I know I wish I could, but can't :) TommyRot. ;)
