Default Sunday 07/26/20 Jaunt

Early Sunday morning spin up through Wickenburg to Bagdad. Leave Carefree Hwy and I17 at 6:30. Breakfast, if you wanna at the Bagdad Diner. Return down through Yarnell to Wickenburg or go through Skull Valley to Prescott and then home.

WEATHER PERMITTING

If the forecast, Saturday night is nasty, I'll not be going and I'll post that here.

Looking like there might be a route change tomorrow. SOME people are wanting to go up I17 to Camp Verde then over the back way into Payson. Its a strong possibility that we won't be going up through Wickenburg to Bagdad.

303 miles of smiles for me. I blew right past the Camp Verde exit and wound up close to Munds Park, south of Flagstaff before turning around. Keith thought I must know a trick way so he followed me. That was his first mistake. . Scotty and Mark did it correctly. Mark was so far ahead that I didn't see where he went and Scotty was so far behind that he didn't see where Keith went. The trip was much more freeway than I prefer but it was still good to get the windshield time and enjoy the drive. We had no precipitation although there were some clouds to the West that maybe bringing some later on. Hellova lot better than sitting on the couch.

The trip up to Payson was much cooler than the trip back, even with the little extra miles Karl and I put on the odometer. The valley was getting a little toasty by the time I got home. Sad to see all the destruction the fire caused to the East of the freeway South of Payson. Gotta agree with Karl, much, much better than sitting on the couch.

The extent of the fire damage was unimaginable. The weather was nice and cool until we rolled out of Payson and got below 5000'. Then it got toasty quick. It was nice and cool at 7000'.

A great run through the pines. We have one of the greatest states for Cobra runs. And enough characters to make it interesting

Tommy that sounds an awful lot like the voice of experience. Would you care to tell us about it?

David I hope Judy is successfully recovering.
