Default Header Dimensions

I am looking for general arrangement dimensions for headers. I am currently locating the engine in my frankenstein build. I am hopeful that by moving engine a bit I can accommodate a set of "standard" headers and I can avoid a custom set or reworking the footboxes. I am reaching out to some mfg but no luck yet.

My main concern are the rear tubes as they exit the head and curve to the front avoiding the footboxes. It is a fiberglass car with fiberglass tubs. I am installing a Ford FE big block.

I am in Sun Lakes and willing to drive a bit....

If I could spend a few minutes with a camera and tape measure on a big block cobra it will help me with the engine location.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

I have a big block car and would be more than willing to host a photo session at your convenience some Saturday morning. Just drop a note. I am in Mesa near Brown Rd. and Power Rd.

Danr, is your car moving under its own power now, or are you going to need help pushing it out of the garage?

Carl, he wants to measure it not race it. Doesn't matter if it runs or not. Under its own power or by goose power. To answer your question yes it's running under its own power.

Are you looking to do an under car exhaust, or side pipes? What type of car? GP Headers has a mock up kit that they will ship to you, you fit the mock up, send it back, and they make you the headers. I've heard it works well, here on Club Cobra. They made my headers, but they already have SBF in FFR dimensions, so they just made me a set.

Danr, just thought that getting good pictures might be easier out on the driveway, rather than in the garage.

Glad its running for you. You missed a nice run last Sunday.

thank you....Dan, I will send you a PM to work out a time....

FYI, I spoke with GP headers...they do not have dimensions available. They did send along some pictures with a tape measure laid across them. That will be helpful...but "eyes on" with my own tape will help a great deal. I am not even close to buying the headers, and I have not yet made my choice for cylinder heads...Just hoping to minimize congestion around the footbox, pedal set etc.

If you need exhaust pipes, I have these for sale. They were from an estate sale.
They've been coated, and still have some of the blasting beads inside the pipes.
Send me a PM if interested.
