CSx1000

I know they are aluminum bodies but some controversy over whether they are real CSX vs cobbling together parts but one on Bring a Trailer now with bidding at $175k with a couple of days left.

Anyone else on the forum own one?

Ron, you need it for your stable.:)

That Red Barchetta replica that just sold for $68K would also have been a nifty addition.

Karl's right, Ron ;) you need that CSX-1000 series. Funny that Karlos brings up the little Red Barchetta, he knows I had a chance to buy (Cobra Icon) Gordon Chance's Barchetta a couple months ago, for FAR LESS then the 68K this one brought. Plus Gordon's car had 2-cam Ferrari motor (4-Webers too). Hindsight is 20/20 :) Cheers TommyRot.

A google search for csx1000 will take you to a few threads here on club cobra.

the CSX1000 cars had english built bodies, and commanded a significant premium

I'm pretty sure a CSX1xxx owner did a topic here quite a few years ago...

Not for me, just kicking myself back in 2008 when my CSX was built the aluminum body was only a $10000 option, now I believe it is a $40000 option😢😳😢😢

Most of the years, the aluminum body option was a much higher cost. Maybe the increased cost was being discounted at the time you purchased your car ?

$176k.. I think it's doin pretty good.

On 11/11 a Kirkham sold on BaT for $186,000. So a CSX1000 should sell for WAY WAY above that amount. They’re the top of the heap in terms of Cobra replicas.

Hindsight? Either way, you have a car that by your admission, you have no intention of parting with. It's a really nice car, that every Cobra enthusiast adores (because I thought ogles was inappropriate, LOL).

$230K SEEMS like almost enough:)
