Run to Flagstaff
For those that are not going away for the 3 day weekend....
I plan on leaving the McdDonalds in Wickenberg at 10am. Going up Yarnell hill to Prescott. Then continuing on 89A to Jerome. Thru Jerome to Sedona up through Oak Creek canyon to Flag. Oak Creek may be busy around Slide Rock. Having a late lunch at Bun Huggers then returning to the Valley. Figure this would be a nice run before the heat really sets in for good. Mike Edited after a post by Bill..... Sunday May, 26th. |
Leaving McDonalds in Wickenburg at 10 am, on what day?
|
oops...
Thanks Bill, That's what I get for trying to post and at the same time fight fires here at work. Sunday, May 26th. Mike |
Sunday. Don't know for sure. This is my wifes last weekend in town before she leaves for Alaska. She will be gone until the end of June and I'm sure she has a lot to do before she leaves. If we are there a 10am we are there if you know what I mean. Speaking of fires, we have a big on burning right now in the Catalinas. We can see it from the house and it is working its way toward Mt. Lemmon. This could be a very interesting weekend.

Hey Mikec, you ALWAYS leave out the date or time or exact location. Is this reverse psychology? John
|
John,
It's either that I think everyone can read my mind or a ploy to get you to finish the car. If I plan a run and tell everone but you about it you will feel left out and finish....:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: Or the real reason is that I'm having major brain Farts in this latest stage of my life. Hope to see the finished product soon. Oh, by the way...you cannot paint it silver. We only allow a certain number of silver cars in the club. That dance card is full.... Mike |
Hey there Mikec, I missed your run yesterday. I was in Oklahoma and just got back home today. My car WILL be Mercedes Brilliant Silver, code # 744. NO STRIPES. Black side pipes and chrome double roll bar. John PS. You have no say in the color - it was decided by my wife when we were at the Factory two years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
John,
Checking up on your land....Good for you. As far as the color goes....We or at least I wanted to paint the car Ivy Green. While at the factory Ginny saw the silver one and there you have it. Same story. It had to be silver. So when does it hit the paint booth? Any idea when the final unvieling of the car be? I just might have to take a run down there and see it when it is done. Mike |
Mikec, thanks for the quick reply. I will let you know late Friday evening about the "Unveiling". Lots of things to do, received the MAC headers today. As a side note, I found 15 acres of land in southwestern Oklahoma for $3,000.00. It's in a small town, pop.150., in southwestern Ok. Right in the middle of the tornado belt. Hopefully I'll know more in a week or so. John PS. DVSFII here I come !!!

Mike, I saw some pictures of the Route 66 run. A guy that I work (?) with was there with his (GM product,Corvette) car and took a ton of pictures. He knew that I was building a Cobra and took a picture of the three Cobras there. Who were the owners of the silver and the blue/white stripe cars ? JOHN
|
John,
The silver belongs to Jason..alias Funnel Boy, The 2 Blue/white... Bob Broberg and Stuart. BoB's is an SPF and Stuart has an SMC. Jason runs FFR. Mike |
Yeah yeah yeah I am funnel Boy. The run was a blast!!!! Cannot wait until next year! We need a better Cobra showing, all those darn Vettes!
|
Jason, about half of the Corvetts were from Tucson, it seems that that event is one of their BIGGIES of the year. I'll be there in 2003 with my Mercedes brilliant-silver Cobra. John
|
Cool!
|
Hey, Jason...
Don't let John fool you....He has to finish the car first...:3DSMILE: Actually he says it's almost done. John are you gonna take it to Club Sandwich? Jason, Have you fixed the clutch yet? We need to get you to the drags. Mike |
I have been out of town..... does the Factory 5 manual address how to install the clutch assembly?
|
Mikec, I picked up the CHROMED hood hinge frame today. Yes, I'll be in Laughlin, that is one event that my wife and I really enjoy. John
|
Jason,
Are you talking about the clutch, pressure plate assembly or the Quadrant? Call me. mike |
quadrant
|
Jason,
I have some instruction for removing a clutch quadrant in a completed car at home. If you are planning on going to 5 & Diner tomorrow night I'll bring them with me. Mike |
