Default Sept. and Oct events.

Hey guys, what are the events planned for September and October ? Is anyone planning to attend the Laughlin "Club Sandwich" in Oct ? How about the "Snakes to the Lake" ? Will there be a NASA driver training session at PIR in Oct. ? Are we, Arizona Cobras planning any drives / events ? I'd suggest a drive from Tucson / Phoenix to Winkleman, Globe, Safford, Clifton, Hannagan Medows, Alpine, Eager, and an overnight stay in the Pinetop / Lakeside / Showlow area. The next day go to Heber, Payson and Phoenix / Tucson. If we time this right we can take in all of the color changes in Southeastern Arizona. Hey Mikec, come up with some plans. John PS. How is your car coming along ? is it drivable yet ? We have another Tucson Cobra owner - 25 and growing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John,

If you guys can head through Pinetop on the last weekend of Sept, you'll catch the Run To The Pines show - 550 or so 1972 and older cars. I think a few from the Phoenix area might have their Cobras in the show.

If you head west outta Show Low on 260 to Payson, be ready for some saddening black scenery over around Overgaard and Heber - it's gonna be like that for awhile.

Neal, thanks for the info on the "Run to the Pines". Many years ago I took my ( then completely repainted ) Mustang II up there and took home a trophy. Right now that weekend is open for me. How about some input from the rest of you Cobra owners. John

John,

At this time about 4 Cobras are attending "the Run to the Pines"
Ginny is also entering her new toy..The Hedgehog.

Also, I'll be sending out an email for the 'ClubSandwich" run in about a week.

I have been thinking about a run up through Payson to lake Mary road across to Flag. Lunch in Flag then return down 89a to Phx.

Also, still looking at a run thorugh Salt river canyon. It's just been to hot to plan anything.

Mike

p.s. I am taking the Cobra down to a shop today to see what he will do for me on the hood. I am hoping he can have it done before the Run to the Pines. All need to do is throw the new shocks on in the rear and get the hood painted and I am done.

Perhaps in a couple of years start upgrading the intake ect....

Probably not, we have plans with some friends. The next two weekends I will be up near Seligman to look at property and the following weekend will be taking my nephew fishing.

Simon.

Welcome to the valley.

My State Farm agent insures mine. Full coverage, submitted an appraisal, don't recall all the details but it runs about $800 a year. Email me if you need (or want) his name and number.

Simon, I also have State Farm insurance down here in Tucson. I am paying $632.00 per year for full coverage and that allows me to drive the Cobra 7,500 miles a year. My other cars are insured by them. I had to show the Arizona title, and give them four pictures of the car, front, rear, right and left sides. I drove the car to the agents office and he took the pictures. Welcome to Arizona, too bad that you are seeing the weather at it's worst - heat, wind, dust, rain showers, and of course, heat. Good luck. John

Mikec, do you want to plan the "Run to the Pines" as an Arizona Cobra Club event ? Are you guys going up there just for one day or will you spend the night ? Please confirm the weekend, is it Sept. 28 / 29 th ? The next weekend is the California "Run to the Lake" ( Lake Tahoe ), followed on the next weekend by the kit car "Club Sandwich" in Laughlin. If that is correct it'll be a VERY busy three weekends. I would like to see a drive to see the colors change in the higher elevations here in Arizona and perhaps an overnight stay. Mike, I'll tell 'ya, keep working because this retirement is so darn busy that I can't possible find time for everything like I used to do when I was working. John
