a break in winter's grasp
Winter has had a pretty relentless grip on Indiana for a couple months. Today, though, was uncharacteristically warm. I knocked off from work a little early and took a little ride.
The lusty small block leaped eagerly to life at the touch of the key. The shoulder harness had to be loosened to accomodate the extra sweat shirt and leather jacket. Summertime memories returned as the car accelerated effortlessly through the gears. The sound of the sidepipes was better than any music I've heard for a long time. The tires protested angrily when I applied the power assertively.
People stared more than usual this evening-must have been the temperature. It was unreasonably fun to re-live in mid-winter just how fun these cars are to drive. Guys and girls...we truly are fortunate to have such a fun diversion. A little break in frigid temperatures from time to time helps a lot too.
I had an uncommonly fun evening, lets get ready for June.!
