Stroker Boy

Ok I have decided on the engine block.

I am going with a brand spanking new 342 stroker short block from Ford.

No more changing my mind.

Official and done!

Anybody have a used 65 mm throttle body and 75 mass air they don't need I would be interested!

azguy2000 02-12-2003 02:52 PM

I thought it was a 347 stroker, and it was a kit based on the 302?

Jason Lee Nye 02-12-2003 02:54 PM

They offer the 342 and the 347. The difference is the 347 is bored .30 something over.

Jason Lee Nye 02-12-2003 02:57 PM

I would hate to see the nickname you guys would have gave me if I put a blower on it!

I like stroker much better than funnel. Reminds me of the movie with the character Stroker Ace.

for I have learnt something in school for once....Jason Blower Nye?

Jason Lee Nye 02-12-2003 03:19 PM

aw AZguy is funny man today! I will remember that when it comes time to take the Spec Racer for a spin

azguy2000 02-12-2003 03:27 PM

and just how do you plan on doing that Jason?

Jason Lee Nye 02-12-2003 03:29 PM

Well after it is built I plan to put the key in and turn....... in about 6 months. After looking at the parts list, I think I will be able to do this in less than 6 months unless the roof caves in on my house and I have to take away time from the build.

mikiec 02-12-2003 04:22 PM

6 months???????

It only took me 4 months, Jerry did his in just over 3.

I guess it's time to call you POKEY BOY....:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Once you start I'll stop by often to see how it's going.

Mike

azguy2000 02-12-2003 04:26 PM

mikiec is being funny man today too...

Jason Lee Nye 02-12-2003 04:32 PM

***Note: I left an open, I said "about 6 months"

Anything under 6 months is about 6 months.

azguy2000 02-12-2003 04:55 PM

I was just wondering, would the compression of the stroker be to high for a supercharger?

Jason Lee Nye 02-12-2003 04:58 PM

You are asking the wrong person here. But I think there are stroked engines with blowers on them out there.

azguy2000 02-12-2003 05:18 PM

I know there is a Turbocharged 2000 SVT Cobra R(one of 300) runing around phoenix....he has to limit the boost because of the high compression ratio,I guess it won't handle the forced induction all that well. here it is....http://forums.stangnet.com/showthrea...hreadid=263553

Jason Lee Nye 02-12-2003 05:33 PM

I assume there is a way to reduce the compression with changing the rings ect. If I ever get to that point I will look into it first before throwing one on.
