I can send you an mp3 of it...if you can't find it

MikieC. is correct. However, the Jan and Dean version was the most popular.

Thanks hotfingrs,
That would be very cool. Just another example of Cobra people being a GREAT bunch of folks. Thanks for saving me from running around. cobrasnvettes@cox.net I am having a web site built for company and would like it to play during the flash intro. I will have to ask about legalities on a commercial site but the company building site should cover me on all legal issues. Regaurdless I can play it at the shop now and then. |
Jan and Dean version more popular?? never happen
|
mp3 was sent 1.9mb so you might want to empty your mailbox
|
Jan and Dean?
What steenkin' Jan and Dean version?
The 'chords were the the ONLY version! And to repeat a trivia question used here several times what does the song and "Rocky" have in common? Rick |
The lyrics to both songs were written by Carol Connors.
|
Whoa!!!!!!!!!
Somebody fill me in on the Jan and Dean version! DV...sounds like a "dead end" to me :) |
Can't find any reference to Jan and Dean doing our song..
Nothing on their official site: http://www.jananddean.com/disco.html Mike |
Jan & Dean may have recorded but I doubt it. No mention of it in Billboard's Top 40 Hits. It a great book to settle trivia disputes. Personally, I don't ever remeber a Jan & Dean version, only the Rip Chords. Made as high as #4 in January 1964.
|
I could swear that I had a Jan & Dean album with "Little Cobra" on it some years ago. Maybe they did a cover of it - quite a bit of that going on back then.
|
Jeff, I have the original song on CD from a Hot Rod CD if you want to copy it.
Bob |
Bob,
I now have a copy that hotfngrs sent me. I have copied it to CD already and played it several times, but do appreciate the offer. |
Sorry, you're right. I was thinking of another song.

Jan & Dean DID do "Hey Little Cobra"
Indeed, Jan & Dean did do a version of "Hey Little Cobra", but it was after the original Rip Chords version and not as popular. If anyone's interested, I have both versions on my computer at the house and will send them along. Just drop me a line ...
FWIW, the Jan & Dean version is almost indistinguishable from the Rip Chords original version. They were both in SoCal at that point in their careers, and I think both groups were involved in each others recordings of the song. I've a pretty good collection of old Rock-n-Roll recordings...hell, I grew up then....er, check that....I've never really 'grown up', just got a little older....okay, okay...a LOT older...! |
Freddie...
Was that released as an Album cut? I could not find any mention of it in Joel Whitburns top 40 guide. Covers 1955 to 1995. Can't seem to find my hot 100 book.....I think my son borrowed that awhile back. Mike |
I too would like to hear this alleged Jan and Dean version. I have the Rip Chords version on a 60's collection cd, but no J&D version. If it does exist, then it seems that no self respecting Cobra owner could sleep at night without owning it. Same goes for the Cosby 200mph album.
