Can I buy leaded gas in the Phoenix area? Preferably in the Apache Jct area.

Scott,
Welcome to the Dry Heat! Hope you check in with the Az. Club when settled. You can buy leaded gas but not from the corner filling station. Several Racing fuel dealers that sell a 101 octane leaded to nitro if you want. I buy my fuel by the drum as it is less expensive and saves the trip to where ever when low. I live on the other side of the valley and do not know Aphace Junction area well enough to direct to location. How bout it fellow DRY HEATERS where can he get fuel in that area????

Welcome to AZ...I don't think you can get leaded fuel in AJ, nor Mesa... Living 5 min from AJ in Mesa I have never seen it.

AZguy..

You will not see leaded fuel at any of the local gas stations...

Scott, Like Jeff I do not live anywhere near AJ. You might want to contact Gordon Levy. He may have some info about leaded fuel for you.

You might also check with the local tracks to see who supplies their fuel. There is a service station near Firebird that sells 100 octane.

Mike

Jerry, Jim, Scott anybody else .. any ideas??

Default moving to az

I am moving to az next year 2004
House will ready in June or early July.
My SPF 786 is for sale, timing and storage problems.
I am retiring after 38 years and a sucessfull career from a major corporation.
If I sell SPF 786 I will buy new SPF, since the Shelby's are overprice of what they offer.
I hope to hook up with you guys and gals next year.

Sean,

Anthem motors is the temporary home for the new Hillbank operation. Once, Hillbank moves into their new digs, Anthem will then provide drive train installs if the customer requests.

Anthem is a dealer for Back Draft.

Leaded gas is not a station deal but the local speed shops have it as well as about 10 individuals that are jobbers for Sunoco and VP and other brands. Check web for suppliers in your zip code at brands listed above. I would get it for you but am 30 miles away , up to you.

Cobish, Arizona is a rather large state and the above replys assume that you will be moving to Phoenix (Phithuee) (hot) (humid) (smog problems) (traffic) ( your home air conditioner will run 24 hrs a day in July and Aug. ) and did I mention that it is HOT in Phoenix. You haven't mentioned where you willl be relocating to. Anyway, it's a great state and you will find Cobra owners all over. Did I mention that we have a car show at a nudest camp in Oct. ??????? John

Jeff,

You must attend one of the camps car shows. I think we have one coming up in October.

It is interesting to say the least.

Hey Jeff, if your local paper covered an artical last Sat. about your Jake Flake and the "teen nudest camp" you will know about the Shangri- La Nudest Resort. Last year the car show was on Oct. 20th. By the way, DON'T ask MIKIEC for DIRECTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes, you'll see lots of 50+ wrinkles but I've never tried to bondo them. John

The wrinkles remark was a bit tongue in check and I am not that far from 50 myself. I have been following the news stories about the camp.

Boy did this thread take a left turn! how did we go from 100+ gas to Nudity? Anyway, I also am intrested in the Gas. Is there a place to get high octane in the east valley??? Sure would be nice to know. .............Now.............. When is this car show? I might need to take the decals off so the car would also be in the buff..........

Brian

Hey, John...

Are you gonna come up for the show?

Brian, If you built a normal motor you would not need the 100+ stuff. I suggest each of you call Gordon or one of the tracks and find out where to get the rocket fuel.

Back to racing fuel locations in Phoenix valley. I am on the West side and will sell you what you need or hook you up will my supplier. He will deliver by the drum in the valley if a few want to get together and split the drum. You can also get it from the tracks on any Fri or Sat night. I can give you 6 locations on this side of town so know it is the same on East side I just do not know where.
A drum really does not take long to go through especially if you split it up with a few buddies. It stores well in plastic but does not like sun on jugs so cover them up outside with good ventilation in mind. Let me know if I can help any fellow Cobra addicts.

I know, I know
Bigger is better (at least that is what I've been told)

Hey Jeff, What does a drum run? is a drum 55 gal? Can we exchange the drum for another when it's dry? Not sure how this works never done it before.

Mickie,
My car can almost pass everything on the road.......... execpt a GAS station............................ (I did average 7 mi to the gal on our last trip)
Keep it above 100............

Brian,
%$%^& Cox cable acting up , just lost reply so typing it again!
The drums are 55 gal. and do have a $20.00 deposit refundable on final return. Determine octane you need. Harbor Freight sells a hand barrel pump for 20 bucks. It is low quality but after replacing gasket with a hand made version works great.
Store outside and cover to keep ultraviolet of drum but heat seems OK. I worry about fumes in the shop but never a problem outside. Call me at 602 402 8504 for dealers phone number and info.
I need 109 so mixing is not a real issue for me. If you only need say 100 you could mix 5 gal of 92 with 4 gals of 109 and get 99.55 octane. All this is just to make drum last longer and I qustion if worth it because my dealer does not charge me delivery fees.

I just checked with Gordon...

He also, purchases his fuel by the barrel. He did not know of anybody in the AJ area.
