AZ delivery party!

I posted this over at the FFCobra.com forum as well...

I talked to Colin at Stewart Transport today and the kit will be delivered this Saturday (10/18)! It should get here around 11:00 to 12:00. To celebrate, I invite anyone who can make it to northeast Mesa to stop by and have some pizza and beer. I figure if you come anytime from 3:00pm on it should be here. Since Stewart's guys put it right into the garage, I don't actually need any help. I just want some Cobras to stop over and scare the neighbors and let them know what they're in for Send me an email if you can make it and I will send you some directions.
I can't wait........
Dave

PS Mr Pink... I have a picture of your beautiful car on the front of my body buck so when neighbors ask what I'm doing with a "bunk bed" frame in my garage I can show them what it is for. Hopefully you can cruise over and let them see it for real!

I live just live on the other side of Maricopa City. Where abouts are you? I don't have a running Factory 5 yet but can there to make sure you don't waste any beer or pizza

I remember when my Spec Racer rolled off, quite exciting!

p.s. You migth want to make sure you have your floor jacks handy and floor jack. They will swing the body around and roll it into your garage on a wooden dolly with four wheels. If you don't have your jack and stands ready they will have to drop it straight on the floor. Not DROP it drop it, but it is easier to have it on the jack stands ready to go vs lifting it up bare handed onto the jacks from the floor. If your buck is cut and ready I will be happy to lend a hand with putting it on the buck. Have your socket set ready!!!!

Anybody that is planning on helping move the body, remember to bring your gloves. Fiberglass is not your friend to your bare hands.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like we should have a good turnout. FYI, I will be away Thursday morning until Saturday morning. If anyone else is looking for directions, I will send them to you early Saturday when I get back.

I just e-mailed you, cannot make Saturday.

Mike,

I should be able to make it on Sunday!

mikiec 10-16-2003 11:25 AM

Great Jason,

It will be good seeing you again.

How does it feel to now live in a city again? Taxes will skyrocket.

Mike

Jason Lee Nye 10-16-2003 11:35 AM

It will be nice to visit the city again. However it is nice living in a County and not a City. We use the City of Maricopa as a reference point because that is the nearest city. We live 10 miles from the nearest town that doesn't even have a street light.:D

We don't mind the drive to work 50 miles each way to Shea and Scottsdale Road. Well worth the freedom, space, land, air ect...

Jason Lee Nye 10-16-2003 11:37 AM

Mike,

Do you have a digital camera on hand? I need to snap a few shots of the trick flow heads and parts I am selling. I can just throw them in the back of the Explorer and when we meet up , snap a few picks?

mikiec 10-16-2003 12:50 PM

I'll bring the camera with me on Sunday.

Mike

Maricopa 10-16-2003 12:55 PM

Hey Mikiec, if I don't make it Sat and you have a free seat can I catch a ride out with you Sun? I'm at 32nd St and Shea.

Mike

mikiec 10-16-2003 02:10 PM

Mike D

I have a seat available for Sunday.

Email me, if you do not make it Saturday, with your address and directions.

Thanks Mike, sounds fun. Sat is less likely because I have a friend from Tucson coming by on his way up to Prescott.
I'll drop you a line Sat then.

JoeLafives 10-16-2003 04:40 PM

Depending on where you're at in Mesa. I'd like to stop by on Sunday. (I'll be shooting in Tucson on Saturday)

Jason, where do you work at Scottsdale and Shea? I live a couple of miles from there.
Jim

I would rather not say on the internet but can say I am walking distance from the Hilton and my work place is off the Golf Course (not sure which hole) When I step outside I can see the second light on DoubleTree after you turn East off of Scottsdale Road onto DoubleTree.

Didn't I meet you before you bought your Factory 5? Didn't you stop buy my house to look at the Spec Racer chassis in my garage when I lived off of 43rd Ave and Bell?

mrpink 10-16-2003 05:27 PM

Jason, no we haven't met. But we did talk about guns before.
Jim

Jason Lee Nye 10-16-2003 05:30 PM

I think I remember now.

I have been wanting to ask, what is the story behind the name Mr. Pink? Pink Panther?

mikiec 10-16-2003 05:37 PM

Scott...

Where have you been?? We have not seen you since your down hill slide.

Hopefully I'll see you at Dave's Sunday.

Mike

mrpink 10-16-2003 05:47 PM

Jason, from a must see movie by Quentin Tarantino called "Reservoir Dogs". Should be in everyone's collection.

JoeLafives 10-17-2003 03:19 PM

Mike:
Well. I've had the fiberglass repaired, had the car repainted and while I was at it I;ve added a shoulder harness, new expansion tank, new fuel pump, re doune the clutch and pedals. Right now though I'm having a carb problem though. Still I hope to get over to Cobra52's on Sunday and the Pavillions next Saturday if possible. A

As far as other activities I'd been busy graduating four kids from HS and send three to College.:)

Scott
