Angry Whoa....is me

Anybody want tot take a trip out to Noeth Scottsdale to look at an electrical problem that is keeping my 289 in the garage. I have a pertronix ignitor in my distributor with their flame thrower coil. I have tried to diagnose the probelm with the help of Jeff C. but I just don't have enough tech knowledge to find the problem. I am willing to pay for good help as I will have to hire a transport to get the car to a shop if I can't find help that can fix it at home. I would obviously prefer to keep the car safe here that flatbedding her to a shop. Anybody want to help? I will gladly pay for time and materials.

Call with with test results on Pertronics if available. You can always throw points back in or another dist. to canfirn fault in the black box (pertronics). There is not much else it can be at this point. If you need help with an old stock dist. I can help ya there also.

As I live in North Scottsdale, it is only fair that I come take a look.... How's tomorrow - ie Saturday? I have the appropriate meters and electrical stuff.... I also have a complete msd unit sans distributor... Send me an email with the address at :

Thanks Steve, Jeff and Jim,
I appreciate the willingness to help me out with my ignition problem.
I tried to trouble shoot the problem with Pertronix on the internet but there was not enough information there so I called them yesterday afternoon and spoke with one of their engineers. We determined that the black box inside the distributor cap was fried. So today I will go to Loper's to buy another unit. The install is simple which means even I can do it. I will do this in the morning in hopes that I can get a test ride in today. I want to go on the Mother's day ride tomorrow if everything ships up right today.
I will let you all know.
Again, thanks to everybody for the desire to help me. I really appreciate it very much

Ok, I got the new module and bought a new coil just to be safe. The install took 30 minutes and I fired her up. Everything is normal now.
I will be on the ride tomorrow.

Thanks for the offers of help guys,
