Az Breakfast Run Sunday?
Trying to assemble a run for breakfast on Sunday in the East Valley. Would like somewhere in-town. Anyone interested?
Ted |
I cruise north bound every other Sunday AM about 7:30 to this cruise spot listed at:
http://www.cruisinarizona.com/ Anthem Big Apple Bagels. Bob |
Bob,
I believe I met you at PIR a couple years ago. You had your car out there on display. Since then I have taken the plunge and acquired one of my own. :) Thanks for the info! I am new to this board. Ted |
Welcome, Ted. I am usually the only cobra there on Sundays but you certainly are welcome. This Sunday is mine. I usually get there by 8 am and leave by 9:30am before it gets hot out. Anyone is welcome, small gathering. Good, cheap food.
Bob |
Thanks Bob! I am in the west valley, Litchfield Park, and would love to run up there some Sunday. I'll be in touch!
|
Hey
I could be interested in this! I will check back on Saturday to see if you are still going... Steve |
Ted,
As previously stated.. I'll be out of town. But you are doing good... Mr. Mulv has expressed interest. :3DSMILE: Enjoy the ride. Mike |
I'd be interested in this. Is there a meeting spot for the drive up or is everyone just meeting there?
-Madik |
No meet spot, too close. I just buzz east on Happy Valley Rd to the I-17 and get off on Anthem Road Exit then east about a half mile behind a Mobile Station. I play with my nitrous on the way.
Bob |
I would be glad to meet up with you guys perhaps at the Mobile station at 101 and 67th Ave? 7:30AM? I'll show you where the Bagel place is.
Bob |
Ok, change of plans for me. I guess I'm out.
Brought the car to the track tonight. On the second run we dragged a Viper... stayed side by side with it.... then... snap! Clutch goes out. Think we broke the Clutch Fork or pivot bearing. Was really looking forward to Sunday. Guess I'll have to catch the next one. -Madik out |
I would meet up with some Mesa guys about Scottsdale Rd. and the 202. At 7:00. Go west on I-10 and then north on the 101. End up @ 67 Av.
|
Jim, that's pretty far west for you. You are a driving machine! How do you afford all that gas? LOL
Bob |
Madik, so sorry to hear of your trouble. You must have trailered there? If Fork or bearing, lots of work ahead. New clutch plate? Now's the time to check/change. Still hot season. Get it fixed by Sept. More group runs etc. Good luck. Maybe next time. Let us know about tech and restrictions from Wed.
Bob |
Thanks for the simpathy Bob.
Not a mechanic myself, but just happen to be sharing this car with a mechanic from ford. Gives us access to all a Ford service department has to offer. (Tools, lift and discounts too!) Expect to be back on the road pretty quickly. As for the spec requirements last night. When we got there the spec tech gave us a little trouble because our battery was not secure and he wanted to make sure we we're wearing a leather jacket. Tightened the battery down with some zip-ties and put on a normal leather jacket and he was happy. First run was a take it easy run at 13.3 (killed a mustang though) and the second run broke our car. Was really hoping to get into the 12's last night, but very difficult to hook up with street tires. I hope to get our drag date squared away today. Will update on the Speedworld Drag Night post I already have started. -Madik |
Hi all,
Looks as if Anthem is the hot spot this weekend for breakfast! Bob, is it OK if we tag along???? Can we all meet at the 101 and I-17 stack? That way the East valley guys can just take freeway to I-17 and jump off at the 101. Isn't there a gas station there? Is this cool? I thought there was a gas station at the stack there by the hospital. Let me know. |
Ted,
Give me a time to meet. I can go by there on the way home tonight and find a meeting spot and then get an email out. I'll also post it here. Mike |
7:30 Thanks Mike!!!!
I think there is a gas station across from the hospital just north of the Jack in the Box right at the stack. It is west of the I-17 and South of 101 in that shopping center area. I think the East valley guys would have to get off I-17 at Yorkshire, turn left, make a right at the first light and meet at the gas station that is there. Cannot remember the name of it. Thanks again for checking! Ted |
I will be sitting on the dock pretending to drive; making all the appropriate car sounds; as people look....and talk.....and call the sherriff about some nut on the docks. After "Mass" on the dock with the fish; I take a nap from drinking all the wine.

You are all welcome, the more the merrier. Mike, you want a ride? Ted, you are right there is a gas station on the SW corner of 27th Ave and Beardsley across from the Hospital in the Target SHopping Center. That will be fine. We will have to go north on 27th Ave to Deer Valley to re-enter the I-17 northbound near Anthem Motors. You northbound I-17 people get off on Yorkshire, turn left and then right at first intersection -27th Ave and get in left lane for shopping center entrance.
Westbound on 101 take 27th Ave south just under 101. Eastbound take 27th Ave south and you are right there. See you all there at 7:30am Bob |
