Anyone recommend a Third party registration Company ?
I'm probably bringing a cobra to AZ. from out of state. Wondering if anyone can recommend a Third party Reg. company ? Would using one raise any red flags,or are they fine to use? Thanks

Treading lightly on 3rd party registration companys, if they still exist. Easy to register here, especially if your cobra is already registered in another state.

Define third party registration. If you're asking what I think you are, uh, yes it raises red flags. Not to mention being illegal. ou may want to do a search here, it's been discussed in depth.l

AZ. authorized 3rd. party companies
On the AZ. DMV site, they offer authorized Third party reg. companies. Not looking for an outside title company. AZ. dmv site even gives a complete list of these companies. Let me know what you think. I've been to the dmv in CA., and sometimes you sit there ALL DAY! Can you get appointment in AZ. Anyone recommend a specific office? Thanks for all your help.

Do not waste your time or money on a third party registrar. I brought my car here from California and the process takes about 12 minutes from arrival to leaving with plates and title, if your car has a Cal registration. Find a DMV. You go to the VIN check lane, they verify the serial number and you go inside and get the plates. That's it. If your car is registered as a 1965, they will ask what it sold for when new. I said, "an AC Cobra? about $7500-" No one asked if it was real, they don't care. Plates were $46- for two years... really. It is that simple. One caveat - do not register your car as being newer than 1966 - then it needs to be smogged and it is a real hassle according to several people I have spoken with as they had to remove HiPo cams and things to pass...

You don't need an appointment, they are polite and efficient here... you take a number like the fish counter at a grocery store - I went to the office in Scottsdale, it really was under 15 minutes total. Don't go on the last day of the month, obviously...

Thanks. The car is currently titled in Ohio as a 2004 cobra replica/kit car. Will AZ. title as a 1966? My property is in Sedona, which is outside of the counties that require smog testing. Thanks again

Teddy, I used to live in Sedona. It's even easier to get registered there than Phoenix. Mine was registered new in Ohio also. Transfer here was piece of cake. I did have to tell the testors no to the test drive.
