France Visit Email work there???

Going to France soon. I know we get emails from down under, England etc but can you sit over there, have a cup of coffee in Paris and send an email back here to whoever on a regular lap top. I am assuming a place would be wireless or something. I don't want to hook up and have to spend $$$$ waiting for it to be sent.

Any French cobra people out there?? I mean over there?? Any cobra members been over there and have email experiance back and forth. Let me know or I guess I will just buy a phone

over there to use or a phone card.
