Karen,
To upload pictures you can click on the picture of a camera beneath your name and that'll get you started. I joined the forum recently and I think that worked for me. I also have a SPF with a 392. Mine's a Roush engine, what about yours? How many miles do you have? Bryan |
Karen,
Before you start rippin into your baby here are a couple of things that I would check rightaway... 1) check for water in your oil, Use dip stick or drain it... 2) check you radiator to see if you have oil in your water... 3) Do a good visual and make sure your outer block is OK. 4) Pull your valve covers and check your valves and springs. 5) Do a leak down test (best), or compression test (first remove all the plugs to let any water that might be in the cylinder(s) out) 6) The leakdown should identify where the problem is and on what bank. 7) fix it, and we will see you on November 18th....;) I was sorry to see that your car was down, take it easy on those Freeways you don't need to beat all the cars you come up on%/ I am going to start calling you Monica.... Let me know if you need any help! Brian |
Karen, you certaily got lucky if you were having engine troubles and Brian came along. He's had 'way more than his share of "opportunities" to explore the innards of his engine. His advice about not needing to beat everything on the road is sage since he does tend to flog the beJesus out of his car from time to time. Hope you are lucky enough to find something minor and can get back on the road soon. The weather is 'way too nice to miss.

OOPS! Sorry, Karen I miss read the message. I hope whatever the problem is it can be fixed in an afternoon.

Hey Karen, sorry to hear about your problems. To bad that you will miss the Challenge on the 11th. John

Click on your CAMERA icon, on THAT page click on "Upload Photos".
Of course you have to KNOW where the photos are stored within your hard drive, thats the tricky part. Hope it's just a simple blown head gasket and your back in the saddle shortly. :D |
so far
After some investigation it looks like it the fuel pump! Hopefully I will have it ready for the 11th challange but we shall see..
|
Just say the thread.,. no 11th challange dope!
|
Karen. We gave you an extra week to get it fixed.
Hopefully we will see you on the 18th. Mike |
Karen,
So whats up? whats wrong with your car...? we all want to know the mystery is killing us..... Brian |
It looks like the fuel pump.. I called and talked to the guys that built my pump.. i need the pressure .. ordered it and looks like the wrong pump.. ugggghhhhhhhh.. I am headin out tonight to lift up the car and see what all i need to do.. I am in a rush for the 18th and i know the hour glass is a tickin...
i get one car running and the other goes out.. uggghhhhhh.. and i am still crossin my fingers that it all it is.. Karen |
Brian,
You dont happen to know what kind of fuel pump would you? Thanks Karen |
Is it mounted in the rear of the car or off the front side of the motor?
If it is in the rear it is modt likely a Holley Blue If it is on the moter could be anything from stock to an Eddlebrock fuel pump. Make sure you look at the connections and check the size of the lines and the direction that they enter and exit... Brian |
Brian,
Thanks brian.. the fuel pump is in the back. I got the holley red but it looks completely different.. Once again I am at square one...%/ It is a tight squeeze under the car. I am unsure what kind it is.. could the holley red work at all? and i thought the blue had the regulator on it? sorry so new at the cobra stuff.. any input would be helpful. If I tap on the fuel pump it releases some but not enought to get me anywhere.. so its stuck in the garage.. ugggghhh.. we are working extra hard on trying to get it done for saturday... i would hate to have the drive the 62 lincoln! HA:LOL: Karen |
