This sounds like a great run. Anybody make it before and can give some tips review of past events? Where to get motels, when to leave, where to meet up, etc?
|
Mike puts something together. I am sure he will be putting something out. We stay as a group in Williams 1 night. Freeze to death in the AM when we leave early AM. Nice during the day. Usually get into King town late so street is full. It is fun.
Count us in unless I died. Sargents who went last year; took all the pictures (Red Mustang) said they are going. |
This is CRASH...My car will be ready for Knott's and or Route 66..Please include me.. Dave

Mike..
I have done this for the past 6 years. The first year it was just Ginny and Me, the past 5 we have had a contingent of cobras in attendance. More info will be forth coming. Mike |

Hey Bill. That is mighty nice of you to offer space for "car people". As you know, our tradition is to gather at Carefree and the I-17, travel through Prescott Valley via the Black Canyon/Rte 69 and stop at the Safeway near your other home. We are planning then to head directly to Williams so drinking in the parking lot can start early. I believe we are all registered for the run, so a brief stop Sat am at check-in in Seligman like last year is all we need. And this short cut saves about 60 miles.
We always seem to arrive late in Kingman (who cares!) and Sat night spent walking distance from the hotel allows full pitchers of beer at Pizza Hut and another parking lot party. Good times. The Sunday drive to the finish is sort of a hit a miss choice. Looking forward, AZ Bob |
What time are the early birds driving up. Anybody going in the morning late? Thinking of when to take the dogs to weekend escape. Jo may want to drive over to donkeyville as we have never done that after getting up Sunday AM.

After Knott's Shirley and I are visiting family in Maricopa and Awatoukee (sp?) for a few days. This run is on our way home, at least Friday the 4th would be.
So does the group leave Thursday to be there Friday? |
Hello Larry, we usually leave Friday Noon-ish from I-17 and Carefree Hwy. Stop in Chino Vally for fuel/potty/food and this year, like last, proceed on to the I-40 then to Williams. Easy drive. Arrival probably 4pm ish. Check in then drink and dinner at cafeteria beside Grand Canyon Train. Rained last year and Mikie had bullet hole in radiator (just kidding). Fun group of people except that Jim Olson guy and his inflatable Goat. LOL

Thanks, Bob. Sounds interesting.
So, Bill aka Y-Not, is a room in Williams still available to two lonely people who cause no trouble? Larry Johnson Home 801-766-4650 Cell 503-329-3010 PS: We'll could have a Serpent Express along as a "Shag Wagon" in case any more bullet holes in radiators or "large steel objects" cut holes in oil pans. |
Larry...
Send me an email. Mike |
Bill: THANK YOU!!
Mike: Email sent. |
Larry, I would take those personal numbers out of your post.
|
