Default not a dry heat !!

What a rain!
I have not seen it come down so hard in Glendale EVER. The rain has been going on for about a half hour now but just the average wet stuff then it came down hard. It has been raining here for about 10 min. in buckets. In that 10 min. or so it has flooded the street in front of my home and you can not see the speed bump at all now. The rain has covered the road completely and about 20 feet up into my front yard is also covered.

Keep your powder dry boys.

Ya gotta love the weather here. It has been about a 1/2 hour since I posted and the rain has stopped now. I am looking out my front window and can see the road again. I have been in AZ for 30 some years but never seen it rain this hard before. Thank goodness it only lasted a short time. The temp. dropped from 101 or 102 down to 76 degrees just a quick. It is still showing about 76 outside and a nice breeze to go with it.
Damn Global warming... I hate it.

We got a good dosing out here in God's Country (East Mesa) too. My new garage got painted yesterday and it looks like it didn't wash off. Did discover a leak coming through the ceiling. argh! The wind even blew the Porta John over. Must not have had enough "balast".

Karlos,
Glad the paint was not harmed but the leak sucks. In an attempt to make the best out of a bad thing anyway look at the bright side of the leak, now the garage is empty and latter would have been worse..

My rain gauge shows 2 3/4 inches that came down in less than an hour with the bulk in about 10 min. Our neighborhood is irrigated and their office is close so I will ask what they measured yesterday. This is the desert and our average for the month is only 0.99 inches.

My neighbor told me this morning that his rain gauge measured 3 1/2" of rain this morning. Had a very light sprinkle while I was walking the dog. Wonder if it drowned the rattlers?

Nah Karl, just pissed them off. They will now come to your new garage for warmth and shelter so you better get the leak fixed.

You think you guys got it bad, last night my daughter's boyfriend's Mom almost couldn't make it over here to pick him up because of flooding! For a while I thought I was just gonna have to lock him outside in the rain so we could go to bed.

The storm did a number on the pool though and with the wife out of town and the pickup in the shop I'm not sure I can get enough chlorine in the Cobra to de-green it. Might have to make two trips.

Tell me about it, and I'm way too old to be beating up teenage boys!

Explain to the boyfriend your daughter is the most important person in your life and you don't have a problem going back to prison to protect her!

You think that's bad. Mesa Dave has to use a 4X4 just to get out of his driveway.

yeah the road is kinda ugly. Might be able to go out thru the field. Maybe! The wash took a heck of a beating. Not sure I want to try taking the cobra that way. Hate to have to get towed 100' from the house.

I've already showed him the funny looking spot in the backyard.....You know, where the grass grows especially well.
