Karl is Fookin' Nootz!
Curious what kind of Cobra that is? Seems to have wayyyyy too much flex in his chassis, IMHO.
Holy Cow Karl. No wonder you broke the front end.
Karlos is having a blast but it is time to stiffen that chassis up a bit. Gotta keep that chebby in the chassis.
What was your time? Did you bring a change of clothes that night?
Most people use metal tubing for a chassis. That looked like it was made out of spaghetti. Wow. If that chassis is NOT stiffened up, its going to break in two.
On the other hand, it hooked up really nice. |
Looks like a solid axle, not a flexing frame, aka chassis. In IRS wouldn't do this.
Guys I think it's more the entire left side of the car rising up rather than twisting.
I'm sure Karl will explain that if more Cobras had BBChevys in them this would be more common. ;) |
Karlos has been working hard to get his Toy to hook up and go straight. He is running a Ford rear as the IRS is just not feasible for drag racing (also not allowed at his ET). I look forward to hearing from him what all he has done to get the traction he has found. The body on most cobras does not add anything to structural support to speak of so most chassis will twist under a good launch. The chebby helps too !
Looks like he needed some depends at that time. Way to go Karl.

Yee Gads, caught in the act. I think that run had about a 1.45 sixty foot and 11.25 at 119MPH. The run before was 11.14 but without so much air under the front tire. These runs were on gasoline only. I'm wanting to get these issues resolved before hitting the happy gas and going fast. The body is a NAF and the frame is home made, 2x4 box 3/16" wall. Ford 9" four link w/pannard bar, live axle, Mustand II front end, tubular A arms, QA1 front and Koni rear coil overs. I've been tweaking the four link to get the car to go straight and its gotten much better. I've also cranked the right side springs a little trying to compensate somewhat against the torque. Still have a ways to go. I'm hesitant to put further roll cage bracing in since this is a street car and difficult enough to get in and out of. (six point now) Sure would like to hear any suggestions that might help. Thanks,
I have one suggestion...................... :):):)
Never mind. Mike |
I thought it was Nuck'in Fut's?
Say it with an Irish accent and it makes more sense.
Like so: "Ach laddie, yer fookin' nootz to drive that bloody thing!" :D |
So now we have Ironhead and the Twister.. Lots of nicknames showing up around here.. Oh, and let's now forget Broberg. Someone has to have something to call him..
There are a whole lot of names we call Bob, but the web-Masters would throw us off if we put them in print.
