Default Rollin Rollin Rollin

My arse isn't swollen but sweaty. Anyhow figured I'd get off my butt and post this thing over here. Yes it's a gm motor and yes I've gotten flak from all my ford neighbors, all in goog fun though. Got her new shoes on today..

She's off the ground now and walking, sorta..

Glad to see that Jeff C, Hersh, itbites, and I are not the only ones in the valley to put in CS's first choice of engine brand into a "tribute car". The harrrasssment and abuse from the blue oval boys is never ending but it certainly slows down when your Chevy powered roller skate puts 90% of them in the weeds at the strip.

Morning Dan,
Ya I'm a chebbie guy, I ran the SB but could hear the big block screaming put me back in the car. I have detuned it a bunch to be able to run pump gas so I can come play more often without towing a drum of fuel everywhere. Let me know when ya want to run your orange car against that chebbie Dan !!! Bring the pink slip with you and I'll get you a ride home.

Bob,
She sounds good and crisp even with the carb. I want to shake it down a little and will then put the injection back on. I also need to replace the mufflers as it is pretty loud ... even for me.

Jeff, did you get the comp down to 13:1 with slice-o-bread head gaskets? Nuttin like the sharp crackle of a high compression Chevy. Don't bother with different mufflers, spend the mney on some nice MT drag radials.

Jeff, do you have a special tool to change the shock bushings or do you just use the vise method?

Bob

Ah I'm used to it. Besides I've still got some parts / tricks up sleeve from my last project to throw on later if I get bored. It's really tempting though but I have to keep telling myself to see how the car does with this motor and mild bolt-ons. I have to keep saying this isn't an fbody, vette, or GTO..

Hey Bob,
The bushings can be a pain to remove by hand, Give me a call and we can put them in the press. The press makes it easy if you have enough hands to hold everything until you can get a little pressure to hold it in place.

Another damn Chebby motor. If the build takes as long as most FFR's it will be a few years before it's on the road. Ask Mike Mondie and Dotson how long their builds took.

Karl, We missed you in Heber. Did you re-confirm your room for next year?

Mike

P.S. Daniel, Spend more time over here. A lot more fun that there.

haha thanks Mike. Let me know if someone has an open seat for the next event. I'd like to tag along if it's allright. It would be nice to put some faces to screennames..

I'm hoping the build doesn't take that long. Actually I'd like to tag along with my car by next year. Just gotta keep plugging away at it. Besides building this car is alot of fun. Wife and I are having fun...

Karl,

The only car to go into the weeds that I know of is a copper colored Chebby powered cobra.

Daniel
You should be able to finish in 4 months or less.

Hey I hate Chebbies as much as the next guy but we let people with brand new grocery getters, rusty Oldsmobiles and even BMWs drive with us in parades! Seems we have no standards at all......

What is it now Mikie, 11 years since I started it?

That BMW guy sure had some big ones. Had he not moved I was going to tell the crowd parter that he was not with our group and should be sent through the fair grounds. Next year he will be sent packing.

Yeah, the rust bucket Olds and those crappy mustangs paid big money to parade with us.

Mike
