...and a great time was had by all....except the people who didn't get desert!

Karl Bebout 02-02-2009 09:29 AM

I didn't need the desert after all that I ate at the golf course so I took a tour of San Manuel. John had told me that there were homes for $15K but he forgot to mention that they had wheels and were made of aluminum. Went on in to Catalina, gassed up and headed for home. What an excellent day! Lots of people from both cities missed out on a fun drive, but what's up with the folks from Tucson? John, better save up your ho-house $2 bills for the challenge, if you can't shame more of them to come out.

Mike Brasfield 02-02-2009 09:59 AM

John....thanks for putting the run together. It was a beautiful day spent with beautiful people. Well maybe Karl doesn't fit, but he's really fun. Let's do the wine tasting run we talked about down south of you?

dave from mesa 02-02-2009 10:06 AM

Thanks again John for organizing this trip. We had a great time even if we were SLIGHTLY late. :D

I also would like to add my thanks to John. Great ride and really nice people. A special thanks to Karl for the housing tour. Well I certainly don't need desert so nothing lost.

Looking forward to the next trip.

Thanks to everyone.

What a dumb ass.

Karl Bebout 02-02-2009 11:58 AM

Dang Jim, don't hold back. Y'know DAVE is the one that gives me the most grief about making a wrong turn, ONCE, and just look what he did. We know that Judy will not let him forget that little trick, nor will I.

Karl Bebout 02-02-2009 12:00 PM

Bob, glad you like the San Manuel tour. I don't think I lost anything there so can see no reason to return....unless it to go back to the golf course for another outing.

dave from mesa 02-02-2009 12:12 PM

Hey I didn't make a wrong turn. I just went for dessert before lunch. Can't help that you guys wanted to do it the other way around.
I luv you too Pink

We were worried sick about you!

dave from mesa 02-02-2009 12:27 PM

Karl, it was 2 times. Once the wrong Pima Rd. and the other was the wrong turn to picnic. You better remember or no more cookies. And I won't let David forget the error of his ways. And I didn't get dessert before or after. Bummer!
Judy

John-Tucson 02-02-2009 01:43 PM

Hey 1985CCX, it was just another winter day in southern Arizona. You can tell that it's winter because we have long sleeved shirts on. Judy, I'll buy the dessert the next time that we get together, I think that poor Dave just wanted to get home on Saturday. Hey Karl, did you cruise the back side streets of San Manuel ? It's a pretty sad town since the mine closed. There are suppose to be two Mexican restaurants that are ok to eat at, I've been in one and didn't think that it met the criteria for the Arizona Cobras. For all of you that missed dessert, it was great. I have put it on the "Approved" stopping places for us. THANK you ALL for driving down here, it was refreshing to see the old faces and a few new ones.

Neat! How do you do the panoramas?

Night Enforcer 02-02-2009 02:45 PM

Thanks again John. It was a great run. I know it took a lot of effort to organize.

But what's with the Phoenix group, especially that Karl guy?**) All they want to do is talk, and eat and take pretty pictures. They seem to forget us por folk in Tucson can't hardly afford the gas to drive up to meet those wealthy folks from Scottsdale, Carefree, Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert and all points north known as little LA. Shucks we're just country folks down here tryin to git along.

mikiec 02-02-2009 02:47 PM

Now boys... Dave beats to a different drummer, or is it he beats his drummer?

This was painfully obvious as he watched all of us go one way and he goes another.
Judy, beat him.

Yup, it was a great day. Glad I told work to pound sand.

Mike

Yup, great trip. Sorry I couldn't reply sooner. I couldn't get on CC until now. Super trip. I especially like that lead cobra from AJ to Winkleman with no wrong turns. LOL. Lunch was late but tasted great since it was free.
Now if I could just find where the Speed Channel moved to.
Mike, did you get my photos?

AZ Bob

Danr55 02-02-2009 03:34 PM

The high point of the entire trip! THERE WERE AS MANY RED CARS AS THERE WERE BLUE CARS! That and dessert.
