Picked up new FFR from Levy Racing last week
3 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone:
I am a new member of the club. I just picked up my second FFR from Gordon Levy about a week ago. The first one is rusting on the side of his shed after my friend Paul wrecked it joy riding in the middle of the night. I had given it to him to install a car stereo and after a week or so, I called him to see how it was going and he was "still waiting for a part." That night he lost control of the car and went over a curb and bent the frame. He is now serving an 8 year prison sentence in Douglas for multiple felony DUI's. The insurance company totalled the car and I gave Gordon the check. The result: Levy Racing stage 2 engine (Ford 302 HO), 3 link rear suspension, power steering, wilwood brakes, soft top, air conditioning (I intend to drive it year round in Phoenix), jet hot chrome side pipes, chrome roll bar, Koni shocks, bump steer kit, leather interior, upgraded wheels and tires. The paint is Lexus Matador Red Mica 3 stage. The stripe is lexus Starfire Pearl 3 stage. So far I have had a woman hang out her car at freeway speeds on I-17 to flash me (she was the passenger) if you can believe it, 3 guys who opened the hood at the grocery store to look inside and snap pictures, and a guy crawl under it here at work to look in the engine compartment and then demand to know what it was when I came out to ask him what he was doing... My boss also ran his new Prius over a parking lot cement barricade as he drove by when he saw me take the car cover off it (we all had to push him back off it) the first time I drove it in. This is not the car for the shy. |
Gordon sure does great work, doesn't he? Beeyooteeful!
Congratulations! :) By the way, I'm not at all sure that I would refer to Paul as my friend after a stunt like that with my car. Former (or perhaps more likely late) friend maybe. :p |
Congrats! Don't let anyone drive it...in fact don't let the car out of your site. :3DSMILE:
|
Beautiful car! Congrats and enjoy! Welcome to the club
|
You must take it on the Challenge run.
Mike |
Hey, Free ice cream is free ice cream, right John?
Bring you shiney new Cobra on the Challenge run.. You'll have the prettiest car in the crowd. |
I will bring the Challenge run up with my better half. As long as she is not on call at the hospital, I should be able to make it. If it is really hot (over 100) then I will put on the top and fire up the AC. Otherwise, the cars are a lot more fun to drive without the top.

What, you are not allowed to take the FFR out on a solo run? :):):)
Mike |
Very nice. I am coming up on my 1 year anniversay (with my car from Gordon). I still get as thrilled as I did on my first drive. Enjoy it.
|
Congratulations! Looks great!
Red is the only way to go, besides polished of course. Todd |
That is a beautiful ride you have that there, just don't let Karl drive it!!!
Welcome to the club and hope to see you at some of the events and meeting places when east meets west. LOL. Enjoy it!!! Jim |
Not sure if Gordon would like the publicity for this particular car -- the paint was something that he does not recommend because it is hard to blend and it costs extra for a 3 stage. I think he tried to talk me out of it at least a dozen times...
If you want to see what the paint looks like, look at the red Lexus IS 250 or red IS 350. I think the new Lexus SUV (330?) also uses that color. Micas are really beautiful paints--especially in the sun. |
Gordon has built two for me and I am a happy camper. He sets the car up nice. Good luck with the Air. It makes it OK but never gets real cool in the summer. Your small block may make a difference.
These cars seem to get slower as you drive them. I thought something was not right with my car. It just didn't seem to be fast? Then I let a guy from Montana who owns a Ford GT, Vette, Mustang GT etc. [has money I guess] drive it one night. I rode in "that other seat". Scared the crap out of me! Brought back memories of Travis and Gorden testing the car down the alley going 80 mph in a 1 block before a sharp T turn.**)%/:eek::LOL: And that is about how it went. |

Maybe now that yours is done, he'll get mine finished. |
Hollywood, Hollywood, Hollywood! I'd be plenty safe in it. Doesn't have a monster Chebby to break the MT's loose at 90.
|
That's why my hood is constantly locked.
Mike |
Well karl i guess you need to ride in mine to break those mt's loose!!! Have the skins on the car now. Much better grip than the bfg's that were on it.
Hope to see you soon and yes mike i keep mine locked all the time!!! Jim |
Hollywood Jim, no doubt your car would shred any tire you could squeeze under it. I was refering to the car you told the owner to keep me away from. (mrewing's) Its a much smaller engine than the big iron you and I have.

While in your garage with motor running (open garage door) Remember to just drink a lot; Wait until the side pipes are very very hot; Press :eek:your leg against the pipe; Scream very loud; Put cream on leg; drink more; ....now you are part of the shameless club%/

More photos?
Beautiful car,
I am currently building FFR MKIV. Have AC from Nick Smith and plan on radio. Would love to see interior pics to see how your a/c and radio were done. Thanks, Marc |
