July 4th... ???????????

Houston, we have a problem.

It appears the motel in Heber has lost our reservations. How the heck can you lose 15 rooms.

Anyway Ginny is trying to work around the issue. I guess we could all camp over at Pinks.

More info to follow.

Might want to give them a call.

dave from mesa 05-28-2009 08:08 PM

How many years have you been there??????
How could they have lost the reservations???
What an idiot!!!

Danr55 05-28-2009 08:46 PM

I still have a reservation.

clif 05-28-2009 09:33 PM

Hi Gang
I will be up here if you need any help! I just got the cobra up here a week ago and I will be here thru July!

Karl Bebout 05-29-2009 09:35 AM

Hmmm They trying to tell you something?

mikiec 05-29-2009 01:08 PM

Here are some options......

We go up early in Saturday and do the parade, go to Jim's place and do lunch. Jim, is that OK with you? After that leave for the valley, it will be HOT for the ride back. Stay and watch the fireworks and drive back at night.

Ginny called Forest lakes and they have 6 rooms available. 4 smoking and 2 non-smoking. They will hold them, for her, until 2 pm today. If we take them we are still 7 rooms short.

Plan something else for this year and go the Heber in 2010. Making certain we have a guarantee in writing for the rooms.

Part re-deaux

Ginny has a game plan for those of us that went last year. I'll email tonight.

Mike

mrpink 05-29-2009 01:50 PM

Of course you're welcome to come over for lunch after the parade.
As far as the fireworks that night, that's a nine hour wait after the parade with maybe a rain shower.
I don't like any of you enough to spend 12 -13 hours with.
Also, we won't have the parking or sitting places we normally have at the hotel.
I say we blow it off till next year. Make the crowd want us more.

Danr55 05-29-2009 01:53 PM

I just spoke with the Bison Ranch. They have two bedroom suites available at $169/nite. They will sleep 4 to 6 persons. Anyone interested can call Sue 928-535-6990. They currently have enough rooms to accomodate 28 people.

We can take 3 or 4 more at the cabin is anyone is in need. Let me know.

mikiec 05-29-2009 03:04 PM

OK,

Here is some preliminary info....

We have 12 rooms at the best Western. They went the extra mile, in kicking people out, calling everyone that had a reservation and confirming. So we will be good to go for now. The new people that want to go will be on their own. The Forest Lakes motel is holding rooms until Monday night. Now, Dan comes up with the Bison ranch.. looks like it is good to go.

I'll get an email out tonight to everyone that has requested a room.

Mike,
tell Ginny good job!
Then whoever wants, blow out the carbon to Show Low after the parade to cool down.

mikiec 05-29-2009 07:51 PM

I will, and it works for me. How about that BBQ place?

Mike

mikiec 05-31-2009 02:09 PM

We have some room at the cabin if anyone needs a place to stay. I'm also looking for an empty seat for a friend of Marti's to ride in. If anyone has an empty seat for the events, please let me know.
Thanks,

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 06-02-2009 08:31 AM

Danr, I have an empty seat. You willing to risk it?
