Mike, I don't think that that is the one. Bob had mentioned it a couple of times. I remember that it was lightweight and could be worn in the small of the back with a t-shirt.

I carry a Kel-Tec 32 in my pants pocket. Or perhaps you mean the Kahr 45, but you need a holster with belt clip. The only belt clip holster gun I have is a S&W snub nose 38.

Hey John,
Also give Kel-Tec's .380 a look as it is same frame and weight basically, only the ammo difference. I do like the gun and it is a very easy concealed carry piece. It took me a few boxes of ammo to become comfortable and consistent with it because it is a small frame. We saw several used for sale at the last gun show and of course easy to find new. around 300 bucks. My .380 had a feed problem out of the box that put me off a bit. They did the repair and tune it up on their dime. They have a good rep with a lifetime warranty even though nobody wants to need it, lucky me. I am still not happy that the repair took a couple of months and all I could do was wait till it came back. Kel-Tec has a low % of failures and does have a warranty but it sucks if it is you that is part of the <2% crowd. She works great now and love it. Jeff |
Thanks Jeff, I did a search on the computer and found out about the company. I will be going down to a local gun store and look at one in person. I know all about that 2% problem, last year I was taking eye drops and after some eye problems with the medication I found out that I am in the 1% of people who cannot use that eye drop. Take care.

Give me a call if you want some feedback on the Kel-Tec. It works for me although it has some good and bad points but so does gettin sexed. o It is a small pistol.... good = always easy to carry, light, not expensive 2 shoot or buy, it is .380 cal and with right ammo very affective, double action so chambered and no safety needed small frame ....... bads = makes more recoil and ?? comfort, not a 50 cal, double action only, OK but not fun 2 shoot, repairs take 2+ months!! |
John, I have 2 of them. 1 I bought new for $249 (blued) and the other used for $199 (parkerized). Both great LITTLE, FLAT pocket carry guns, even in shorts and T-Shirt. I looked at the .380 and saw one last month at Cabela's used for $199 but decided the 32 was all I needed, ammo is easy to find and I don't need 3. It also doesn't have the recoil of the 380. Lifetime warantee if you are the first owner. Loaded with 8 rounds of Corbon and JHP. Should be plenty when needed. Plus I carry 2 extra mags.

John, you can also take a look at backpage.com under sporting goods for sale. Craigslist doesn't allow firearm ads but there are lots to look at on backpage. I think the prices are generally high but I bear in mind that they are the asking price and not necessarily the selling price. Also buying used you can save the price of a box of ammo, or more, by not paying the dreaded sales tax. BTW, I've been carrying my Keltec 32 for about 4 or 5 years now and am thoroughly pleased with it. I run Corbon ammo which has balistics very close to a 38sp, if I remember right. Helluva lot better than a bare hand in a knife fight.

I had a chance to fire Jeff's 380. As he said it does buck a bit. It is small and fits in a pocket. I stopped by Cabelas today and they had the one I want to carry. It is a small one. Colt defender in 45 cal. Light weight, in comparison to my XD45. The only problem is the price. Not cheap. Saving for one now. Jeff and I had a good discussion of small vs large he had many good points. I guess I'm compensating. Mike |
Something to think about is the use of an automatic vs a revolver. Having carried both, the auto is generally easier to carry however, in the heat of a situation, you have to remember to take the safety off. I've seen a few videos where the victim is squeezing the trigger on his weapon and nothing is happening. Revolvers usually don't have that issue if they're double action.

The PPK and for that matter the 1911, hell any Colt is a great Toy and fun to shoot as well. They are not easy concealed carry guns or not as easy as my pee shooter. If wearing a coat or open carry no problem but there is just no room in your pocket for it and the BOYS and I ain't leaving the BOYS @ home. |
