Arizona - "Burgers, Brats, & Beer". 10-4-09
Aida and I are happy to host the annual "BURGERS, BRATS, & BEER PARTY". All Cobra owners and all want-to-be-Cobra owners are invited. If your Cobra is down for repairs then jump in the Detroit iron and come on over. Last year we enjoyed the company of the dozen or so Phoenix Cobras who showed up, as I recall we had about 24 Cobras and 55 people. All you can eat and drink. I will have a lot of diet cola and "lite" beers for the Phoenix guys and real stuff for everyone else. The location is: 15026 N. Rugged Lark Dr., Catalina, AZ, 85739. The major cross roads are: Oracle Rd. and Golder Ranch Rd. If you get a bit off course our phone number is: 520-825-9197. I will have a time in a latter posting, right now we are looking at 11:00 am. Everyone is invited. Aida & John

That depends if you and Danr and Karl are planning to attend. I'll tell her next week, for sure, unless I forget.

Of course it's OK. Looking forward to having you down here. By the way, for those of you who would be coming from central or western Phoenix I'd suggest that you take I-10 south to Picacho Peak, exit 219, drive east under I-10 and turn south of the frontage road. Go five miles and look for a sign "Park Link Dr." Turn east and follow that all the way, 18 miles, to route 79, the Florence Highway. Turn south for 20 miles and you'll end up on Oracle Rd. about six miles from our home. Opps, I forgot that I am talking to you, Mikiec. Forget all of the above and follow Bob.

John, You're suggesting that everyone follow Bob? Ha!Ha!Ha! That's better than following Mikie or Karl, I guess.. or even following me.. OK, We'll follow Bob.

John,
Me and the wife would love to make it.
Looks like the temp will be nice for a trip south.
Thanks for doing something like this.
See you then.

Dan, please don't thank John. His head will swell up again. The last time that happened it was not pretty. Please thank Aida.

Mikie, It's all a trick. He'll get a fat head, then he'll start thinking everything is OK and maybe he'll start a second ice cream challenge this year and he'll lose twice!

My wife Pauline and I will be there, as will Pete Hildt. Actually, we will be following him in case he breaks down, in which case he will arrive "under glass" in the Daytona Coupe.
We're really looking forward to it!!!

No Mikiec, there is no rain date. There are so many car shows and commitments for the rest of the year that we had to decide that it's a go, rain or shine. The forecast has changed slightly, the high will be 87 and a low of 59 but they have put in a chance of showers. Right now it looks like you guys will have nine or more Cobras driving down here. That should make an impressive line thru Florence. Watch out for the one cop between Hiway 60 and the Oracle Junction.

The lastest weather forecast is for 86 degrees as a high, 57 for the low on Sat. night/Sunday morning. A 20% chanch of showers. That is the Tucson forecast, as you know we live well north of Tucson and on the north side of the Catalinas so we probably won't see any showers/rain at all. Please bring a chair. Thanks, John

Is it just me or do all the Arizona dudes have all the fun? Course, I guess it helps if you know one another to banter with. Sounds like a scream in happening. Cliff

Hey Cliff, where the heck is Earlimark, Ca. ??????????? With a name like that no wonder no one wants to join you. By the way, if you can make it over here to Tucson on Sunday you are welcome to join us. Right now it looks like there will be about 25 Cobras and misc. Detroit iron.
