Trick battery rack

I don't know if this battery rack is an off the shelf item, or if Paul designed/built it, but I think it's trick.
I don't know if it's just for ease of access or maybe.....to lower center of gravity for racing?
Anyone seen one like it?

Thanks Bruce, I guess Paul did not build everything from scratch. I need to use Google more.
I still think it's a trick box, and wonder why it isn't used more in these cars.

If you take some measurements I think you would have to notch body so it would drop down, just at corner of box. Paul would do what ever the customer wanted. I wanted polished stainless A arms so he did it for me and soon everyone wanted that. I wanted dry sump so he had to make one of frame tube's removable, one by front of engine passenger side. Complete engine and transmission will come out with oil pump attached when that piece of frame is unbolted and removed, ask me how I know. One car had Halibrand quick change rear end. Had to make engine mounts for motor customer was going to use. Had to change drop out transmission frame to fit choice of transmission. Some one wanted drop out battery box so he did it and it looks like someone liked it so he put it on the car you have. Yes I miss Paul.

Thanks for the insider information on what a good guy Paul was, yes, he could customize with the best of them, always improving own his design. The two chassis' I was lucky enough to pick up, there are several differences between them. (don't know which one is the newer one). I consider myself privileged to be able to complete two cars he started.

I only lived 25 minutes from his shop when he worked on my car for a year+/-, it was fun to go up and see what else he was working on.

Attempt at humor, I just took engine and transmission out to take it up to Rex Hutchinson. After they looked at spare f.e. parts I took up with engine looks like the engine will go back in car with 8 stack fuel injection and will use aluminum m.r. heads. Cam change and new billet crank. It will be interesting to see how the changes effect hp and torque when it goes on dyno.
