Default Arntz Type I Safety Cage Photos

"In looking at the pictures of your car, it is most likely an Arntz Type I (1974-1977) or Type II (1977-1979). The main difference between these is the Type II had a "safety cage" around the passenger compartment. Type III (1979-80) had a water drip rail and weather stripping around the hood opening".

Read this about the Arntz Type II safety cage. Am looking at the incomplete Arntz Cobra kit that is listed here on Club Cobra by Mbuc4309,
and learned that it is a type 1 and doesn't have the steel reinforcement safety cage that came on the type II. I understand the safety cage was added to later models to help with the body cracking that happened to earlier Arntz completed builds.

What I need is photos of the sandwiched safety cage so I can determine the cost to update the type I body by adding the reinforcement.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Jim

Mine is sitting in the garage on jack stands. I will try to get a few pictures. PM me your email so I can send them to you.

I mentioned in the post the owner of this vehicle made a few months ago asking if he had a MSO. That car might be dead in the water without it.

Thanks for the photos.

From what I can see it would take a lot of work and expense to convert the Arntz type 1 to a type 2 with the steel reinforcement
epoxied into the body and the modifications needed on the frame.

edit: With the cost of the upgrade estimated at $1500.00, I'm still trying to determine what I'm willing to pay for the kit.

It is hard to determine with the pictures that are shown. All we see is a frame, engine, trans, rear end, and bare body. There is some garbage in the trunk, but it really looks like garbage.

Is all the wiring there? Headlight buckets, tail lights, bumpers, steering column, seats, carpet, the rest of the front end? On top of that, that kit is probably mid-70's and Arntz has been gone for years (hence me asking if the MSO is still there), so finding non-generic parts is not real easy. It also looks as though the rear end is all original, so plan on all new brakes etc. They are Jag. Not cheap.

I would be more in the $4000 range and that is if all the parts above were there. There is a LOT of work needed on that car, and you have no idea if the engine runs.
