Garage update # 6

The brickie's arrived today.. They will be setting out and laying a run of 3 high. Looks like a good size garage... build it big enough now because I never met anyone who said I built my garage too big !!! Good luck with it ..looks great !!

Day 1 with the brickies. I have had to reduce both garage doors from 5400mm to 5100mm, they remain at 2400mm High. The builder and Brickie think there should be bigger pillars. I tend to agree as the steel beams are bloody heavy. I can now see where some of the stuff will go, like the water tanks, compressor, enclosed dirty area, work area, sink, tool wall (that will be small ;)) pole dancing area and so on....... I have done everything correctly....:) Resurveyed the block Engineers for the roof and metal sections Soil test Correct permits Independent Building Inspectors Slab/structural engineers Draftspeople for designs Approved Asbestos Removals Owner Builders permit the list goes on. It has cost over $15k just to get the backyard ready for the slab people. STIFFY |

I'd have no work if I had to price that into a job. I'll stick to my Power Stations, Sewage Plants and Freeway works:p |

I am also in the process of building a shed in the backyard. I have already spendt 7K on council approvals, designers, surveyors, rock doctors and engineers and I have not yet bought any materials or turned any soil. Love the updates keep them coming. Phil |

So I cam home early (any excuse to take a look) and handed out the beers, like most people with taste they preferred the CROWNIES over the VB cans:eek::eek: I thought tradies only drank VB.....ANYWAY..... Finish the pillars and let it dry for the steel next week. Then they return for a day and brick in the bloody big steel beams/lentels. So all going to plan (its like building a Cobra, it never does) by the end of next week the main structure will be in place ready for the builder to add the second story and measure up for the roof guy.
