Default New Chevy roadster

You've probably seen this but, a US company (n2A) is planning a production run of about 100 vehicles. It sits on a Corvette C6 chassis: Front styled like a '57 Chevy, side like a '58, rear like a '59. Hence the designation "789."

Ahhhhh, just ask me if I would like one of those .

I've had that as my screen saver for a few months Merv.

I just love it. Here is the link for those wanting to order one

Thats sweet! Has an LS3 also.

It would look cool with a big shiny supercharger sticking out of the bonnet.

I like everything about the look of the car except the rake of the windscreen.
I think it should be more old skool and stand up a bit straighter and maybe a bit of chrome with 1/4 windows.

A consistant theme would have been better. The front is 57, the rear is 59.

I like the modern version of the 53 Corvette:

Default Uggin' fugly!!

The Vette windshield sitting in the middle of all that retro bodywork makes what could have been a cool concept look like an unfinished rebody. Albanycobra nailed it - a more retro windshield treatment would have made a huge difference.

I should have known that you would be on to that Les!

I actually thought it was a joke at first and then ... well it seemed that they were serious.

I agree that the screen lets it down, and that back deck! Otherwise ... well it works at some levels and looks better in two colours rather than 3. I still like the 'simple is best' concept of the original Cobras.

Merv, I thought the car was just the ticket to cruise down Hastings Street Noosa.

The blue rinse set would surely be attracted.

I try to never go that far north Les, despite my wife's pleas. I have seen the odd blue rinse around Clontarf, however.

Ahhh, so you are one of those northern players mis-leading our local lasses?. Tsk. Tsk.

No wonder I'm missing out!.

I cant say I like the mix and match between models. It would have looked better with 57 front and rear or 59 front and rear. The 2 different styles clash in my opinion.

Boyd did a good job on Chezoom and it had a modern sloping windscreen but kept all the classic 57 styling cues.

Don't know if this video has been posted here but this is what happens when a 59 Chevy meets a modern car head on.

Makes you re-think the idea that big and heavy and solid means safer.

Cheers

My boss has a 789. I don't like the color combo much, but it is a pretty cool car. His has twin turbos and is wicked fast.
There are a couple more pictures in my gallery

It kinda grows on you to some extent. I like the colours in the one Mike posted more. The one in your gallery (below) has a yellow version and the rear end does not work for my eye:

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/s...8/ppuser/23843

Is that an LS3 with twin turbos?
