SUV tyres on a pre-ADR vehicle?
This is for the guys that are building or who already have old toys in the garage, as it's the pre-ADR ruling on tyres that I'm interested in.
From what I can see of the National Code of Practice, all it mentions is that the tyres needs to have at least the load rating, plus a speed rating of at least 120kmh (for a pre-1969 vehicle).
If I want to go with a tyre designed for an SUV so that I can get a reasonably wide and tall radial tyre, is there any problem with that? If anything, the SUV tyres are at least 50% higher load rating, plus a higher speed rating than I need...
Thanks for any input.
