Default FoSC Bathurst Cobra in car footage.

Just in case anyone was interested i posted to youtube a clip from the recent Easter Festival of Sports Cars at Bathurst.

This was my second time on the track so sorry for the slow times on this occasion. I think i did a 2:46 in this session somewhere. Got it down to a 2:43 in the next session before it got rained out and we headed home. Can't wait till next year!!!

Still looks fast! I love that track, I've never driven it in anger - that concrete looks awfully close in places. Did Nurburgring in 2006, but couldn't get faster than 12 minutes in our Nissan X-Trail...

Was there a speed limit placed on Conrod?

It is just that some cars dont seem to go as fast as they sound they could.

No speed limit at all, just common sense. Conrod is a bit deceptive, unless you have massive horsepower you get to a speed, say 200kph and then you reach the uphill bit about halfway down, speed doesn't increase much, if any, in that section. There is also those 2 'humps' in the major straits. Cobras are not very aerodynamic and it takes a lot of 'kahunas' to keep your foot planted when the front wheels get very light and the car wanders about the track..... I only reached about 210 by my speedo. Still was quite a blast.

This is the kit i got. I have had it for nearly 3 years now. Only problem with this is it has a high gain powered microphone and you get a lot of background noise. Best bet is to get a low gain powered mic from ebay, couple of people in the states selling them.

These guys have some pretty cool digital stuff now. Mine is essentially outdated, but still pretty good.

That makes perfect sense.

It sounded like you could have gone faster, but at the end of the day you want the wheels to stay on the ground.

Visiting another site I came accross this footage.
There is a Cobra in it near the start, you will see it as the Charger passes it.

So who has the Cobra that was passed by a stinky old Valiant?

Great footage Ashley! You must have some special brakes on that track too? Those Fords just go so well!

Default Great Footage!

Almost like being there, without having to change your undies! What tyres have you got on the car, Semi-slicks or conventional? Peter.
