Why do strut front ends need to have braces if they are so good ? My ricer has them on both ends. My Cobra chassis is stiff enough to not need braces. Maybe it's because all modern cars are designed to collapse on impact. My crappy old jag front end has purpose built upper wishbones and a revised upper shock mount. It is 'correct' for the geometry. the CG is very low and the bump steer is zero. YAY

After the drive down to Melbourne and having a look at the options already in the shed i have decided to go with the Jag front end components but eliminating the four bags of cement in weight that comes with the Jag crossmember.
Havent started the chassis build yet and not in a hurry to do so as i have to build the shed to put it in first, but while waiting , everything is changing as more options come up. look out. this is only the front end.lol.

Aussie Mike. Your front end is very similar to what i saw today and what made my mind up. Did you come across any problems with your setup?

Default Transaxle?

What abou the likes of a Porsche 944 set up rear end with the diff/gearbox hanging off it. The 944 handles bloody well the front end can't be bad either??

I doubt there would be room in the tunnel between the seats for a transaxle setup in the back.
