Default Foils ain't foils??

Hey Guys

I am after a bit of feedback in terms of sound / heat deadener. Know there have been a few threads on the subject but the details below have popped up on another local forum I'm on and I am keen to quickly make a decision.

The material below is a locally produced product like Dynamat but without the branding all over the mat.

Is this stuff any good for sound and heat deadening and how useable would it be in the cobra?

I have access to a new product made to the same specifications to Dynamat Extreme:
The details of which are below:

Total Thickness: 1.7mm (70-75mil) Approx (same as Dynamat)
Surface Coating: 0.12mm (5mil) aluminum foil reinforce liner(same as Dynamat)
Core material: black butyl (same as Dynamat)
Back: wax paper release liner (better than Dynamat it doesn't deteriorate like the paper backed stuff which can be difficult to remove)

They are also quoting

The package contains
9 x Sheets @ 460mm x 810mm
Total area = 3.35m2 or 36sq ft

Product Specs
Appearance:
Black butyl based core with 4 mil aluminum constrain layer with wax paper release liner
Dimensions
Total Thickness: 1.7mm (70-75mil) Approx
Surface Coating: 0.12mm (5mil) aluminum foil reinforce liner
Core material: black butyl
Back: wax paper release liner

And each box at $150 + $25 shipping.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

If it is a good buy, there is no reason why I can't order extra boxes for anyone interested.

Cheers

Steve

Steve
I've used Resomat from www.tru-fitcarpets.com.au/resomat.htm
A bit thicker than your stuff, about the same price. They offered it to me in 2 thicknesses.
Good guys to deal with, easy to cut and sticks well. The cars not regoed yet so can't really comment on its effectiveness.
