With some great follow up product support and advice from Sideshow and Doubledip I have finally been able to start and run the engine in my project.
I had a software issue that Justin sorted for me, while Jim added a few more wires to the harness to bring it up to current specs.
I really can't thank these 2 blokes enough, I would call up once every 8 months or so out of the blue to ask a question and they always had the finger on the pulse. As much as I love doing electrical myself, I am glad I paid good money and got good service and avoided all the issues along the way.
Anyways, the car is running on the surge tank at the moment, I don't want to introduce fuel into the main tank till a few more welds are sorted on it. I had some issues with fuel at first, the 044 wasn't compatable with the regulator I had, Dave at Kade Speed and Marine met me on a sunday morning and swapped me a mallory reg from his race boat Kryptonite and all was wonderful. AND, I got it done before I burnt out the 044 woohoo.
John Smith at Pro Steer ordered me a vibration reducer and UJ from borgeson, they turned up yesterday, his price and service was also superb. Right price, right advice, quick and easy. The steering shaft/ UJ angle as designed on my kit was a bit to acute for my liking and the setup required a weld. This has been negated and all joints will be clamped DD or splined now. I will take some pics when possible of how I modified the commodore shaft to accept a splined uni. The new 3 joint system will also aid collapsability.
Feels good to finally feel like I have struck a blow.
