It has got me stuffed what is going on?
I have posted 1 or 2 pics in the past :) but not working for me now.

It seems to be deleting some of the numbers from file location?

The new pics are in my gallery, I will try again tonight or tomorrow, with latest pics.
I snuck home just after lunch and all the main frame was up, and builder was starting on batons, says he will start sheeting tomorrow.

Here are last nights pics.
I have added a troop carrier into one of the bays to give an idea of scale.

Cheers

Thats quite some erection you have going there.

strida 03-04-2011 04:25 AM

In NSW we call that a factory.
My shed is the same size as the troop carrier.

That's too funny Dennis, I have to agree with you there! Imagine if you had enough land in Sydney to build that thing?? It would be the equivalent to owning the Leichhardt town hall!!

Keep us posted Boxhead, love the progress.

Going by the truck in the foreground, are you intending 747 services shortly, no wonder..... your building a hangar....Air Boxhead

boxhead 03-07-2011 04:33 PM

LOL Dave, I actually bought that to use to assemble the shed (I was going to put it up myself - but realised I was beter off to pay someone and have it done in 2 - 3 weeks instead of 6 months it woul take me)
So I took on a part time second job and that has paid for the shed build (I hate loans apart from house).

The truck is X - Ansett and was used at Alice Springs airport from 1972 till approx 1990.
It has (from memory) 6200 miles on the speedo.
Will most likely donate it to one of 2 museums out here (Conellan air or Road Transport Hall of Fame)
http://www.nt.gov.au/nreta/arts/ascp/caam.html or http://www.roadtransporthall.com/ind...&id=1&Itemid=2
It drives (brakes dodgy and tyres need replacing) and all hydraulics for stairs and legs work.

Sadly we had a heap of rain last night and still raining today, So even though he arrived just as I was leaving this morning, I suspect he will not get much done.

Aussie Mike 03-08-2011 05:49 PM

It's nearly finished David. Looking really good.

I've been digging storm water trenches around my place. I've got to get the overflow pipes from the tanks finished before the weather turns wet (wetter than the summer we had anyway). That's the final thing to get done to sign off the building permit.

Cheers

boxhead 03-08-2011 06:19 PM

Good point about the water tank.
I always planned on getting one but did not think about gutters and down pipes, looks like the shed kit has the down pipes at opposite corners, so I guess when I get the tank I will need to move the downpipe from L/H front to the back (as tank will be behind shed)
But the down pipe is best at front till tank is in, or water will pool behind the shed.

Aussie Mike 03-08-2011 06:30 PM

I'll snap a pic of how I ran my down pipes tonight. Mine run across the back of the shed to where the two tanks sit on one side.

Cheers

Went home for lunch, did not take camera as I expected no work to have been done.
Well even though it has rained all day in town, very little rain out my way, so roof is actually on.

boxhead 03-09-2011 05:06 PM

Here are some pics when I got home last night.

The gap between the 2 sheds will be closed in by lengthening the silver one, as long as I do not connect any girt beams from one shed to the other, they are classed as free standing, sheeting and flashing may join, but not main beams.
http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1020352.jpg

Here is the sheeting that will be taken out to join them together.

I was chatting to him this morning and asked why no insulation in roof, he said with it drizzling yesterday he could not stick it down as double sided tape was getting too wet.

So the roof sheets only have a couple of screws in them. and he says he will lift and pull the insulation through.

I am was not too happy with this as double handling (removing screws) always means extra time taken (which I end up having to pay for), and I also fear the insulation will get caught on the holes that the screws have made and tear the insulation.

Gav 03-09-2011 08:20 PM

Do you make him pick up dropped screws too Dave?

BJ's Snake 03-10-2011 02:55 PM

Tradies cleaning up after themselves, you have got to be f##kin' joking don't you Gav?

boxhead 03-10-2011 04:08 PM

I cant see any reason not to expect him to pick up his rubbish.
When you take your car in to be serviced, would you be happy if the old oil filter was sitting on the front floor?
Or fingerprints around the door frame.

Why should a different expectation be on a motor mechanic as opposed to a builder?
Or Electrician?
