You will love it, I went only for a day back in 2009.
Make sure you go all 3 days.

Arundel Castle is not far from Goodwood, would make for a nice outing in the English countryside.

I hope to get there next year, but I am also told by friends who have been to lots of these, that the Le Mans Classic and the Techno Classica Essen are equally fantastic. They all seem to have divergent dates, however.

Trev,
Book yourself an F1 drive (not ride), my wife gave this to me for my birthday last year, Good fun!
Warwick Castle is always worth a look.
Imperial War Museum at Duxford is a day well spent.
There's a shop in Stratford Upon Avon has a shop that sells authentic magic wands(!) and other really cool Harry Potter stuff (yes we had children in tow)
Cheers

I'm Going to Goodwood REVIVAL in September - that's the event of the year
http://www.goodwood.co.uk/revival/welcome.aspx
Trev:
Why don't you enter the UK cobra site http://www.cobraclub.com/
and seek for fellow Cobra guys... and you may even get at ride in a Dax or Pilgrim Cobra in the Motherland...
Enjoy

I can do better than that. I can offer a ride in a Kirkham.
If you want some recommendations, let me know what kind of things you want to do and see.
The Silverstone Classic on the 22-24th July is also an axcellent event and the Cobras will be out in force.

Arundel is very close and offers serious history with its castle an' all. Visit Brighton (not far) for some English seaside 'fun' plus a lot of good restaurants (Jamie Oliver's gaff, Hotel du Vin - google) Visit the Brighton Lanes for quaint shoppes etc and go on the Palace Pier for some olde worlde brain damage - and candyfloss! Awful! Beware the nightclubs unless you are a serious swinger (translate that however you like....)
If you get to Brighton, travel a little further and visit the old town of Lewes (castle etc) and visit Harveys brewery for some proper English beer (and no, it ain't ice cold! It's Beer!!) And a 30 minute drive north will bring you to Hawk Cars Ltd if you crave more Cobras - ask Gerry nicely beforehand and he'll be around. Tell him I sent you :-)
and then drive north to London to be relieved of your remaining dollars ;-)
