Default Another Shelbyfest Cobra video

For anyone that is interested one of my laps from shelbyfest 2011. Not the fastest but close. If you listen you can hear the inside wheel frying out of most corners... Have that fixed now, new Tru Trac hasnow been fitted....

Good stuff Ash......

"Floating" into third at the end of the main straight....nearly got ya there !

Good driving mate!

ALSO...
Like the other videos you can see on that same page ,

"Morgan Park Cobra chasing Cobra "....is a good one.

Looks great for the first couple of laps while Chris is still on you...
Bit hard to see after that though.

Thanks,
Warren.

+1. I grew up in Bathurst so know the track pretty well and really enjoyed watching you go around. Those walls are bloody close.

Good stuff all round.

BTW - what diff did you have in there before?

9 inch diff, it was just a standard LSD before. Heavy work with 300 wide slicks and that twisty winton track.

It was so twitchy because the slicsk were delaminating....

And yes Bathurst was a blast! I hope they run that event again in the future... If so I will be looking at some way of keeping the front on the ground... very light over the hump on mtn strait and down conrod.....

Nice work Ash.

I cannot belive the corner speed you have.

What size slick do you run on the front?

Phil

Phil, 270 on the front and 300 rear. Bit of a tight fit in a torana based DRB. Those first few laps at Winton was the first time with those slicks. I gave it about 5 laps to wear away the excess fibreglass on the inside of the guards and for it to stop smoking the front tyres (guards) and all was good. I did get stuck into it with the Dremel when I got home.... bit rough i know but needs a new paint job anyway....

The reason it's "twitchy", is because the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

The Video camera is a Sony Handycam Super 8mm. When I sorted this all out the digital high definition stuff was too expensive. It runs a separate jSony lipstick camera mounted on the roll cage and a remote mic in the footwell. The video camera and battery etc are mounted in a 'Pelican case' on the passengers side seat. It has a remote start / stop button mounted on the dash with a LED to show whats happening. Off is off green is ready and red is filming. I have had it since 2007 so it's a little old technology wise now.

The Bathurst event was run at Easter by FoSC Home Page

For some reason it wasn't held again this year. Shame, it was a great event and if it ever gets run again I will be back for sure.
