Heat proofing - ideas

Hi all,



I am looking to use a good quality heat proof blanket to place in the engine bay to both protect the paint and reduce the temperature.

After searching a number of links and then trying suppliers I came up short.

There are plenty of sound proofing and very thick insulation type materials but I am after something with a lot less bulk...

I want to cut the blanket to size and then fold it back and edge trim it. I have found a suitable cotton to stitch the blanket and a trimmer but not blanket..

Any ideas or leads would be appreciated.
