God I hope not!

Merv and Sharon 05-17-2011 03:24 PM

Ha! Quite a few 'real' ones in the UK seemed to use them. They have a functional value in some situations I guess.

boxhead 05-17-2011 03:41 PM

I don't mind them (but would only suit a vehicle that is built to look like an old car (no flashy paint colors) probably suit a BRG colored car, with tan trimmed seats.

Merv and Sharon 05-17-2011 04:32 PM

Yes I agree Dave. Also would want to be detachable.

rustyBob 05-17-2011 07:00 PM

If you find one let me know i would like one for my car.....

I think one would be good for you Dave.
Imagine how you could drag home crap with one on the cobra!!

boxhead 05-17-2011 07:49 PM

Yeah your probably right Gav, with the manual gearbox I could just about drag anything out of the dirt roads, save me from burning out a granny shift box.

I also realised that Tan seats may not suit, probably more a Camel colored seat with granny shift. :)

See ya in a couple of days Mate :)

Gav 05-17-2011 08:01 PM

I told you not to call me a friend in public.

See you Friday, have a safe drive.

Aussie Mike 05-17-2011 08:04 PM

Probably a good place to put the flat tyre when you put your space saver spare on. Better than having the flat sitting in your wife's lap.

tin-man 05-17-2011 10:21 PM

different boot huh?

and here I thought it was going to be some new fangled Cobra attachment for cowbot boots, then I remembered you guys are in the land of bonnets and boots, ooops, now I know what dumb feels like. **)**):JEKYLHYDE:JEKYLHYDE.:LOL::LOL:

And what's so bad about that Mike?. My first wife's been complaining for years.:LOL:

Aussie Mike 05-17-2011 11:25 PM

There's some little blue pills that can fix that problem for you Les.

Doug

Merv and Sharon 05-18-2011 05:11 AM

Thanks Doug. Could be handy on longer trips. Still not sure how easy they would be to fit, or obtain. I did see a smaller one: !/43rd scale luggage rack suitable for most sports cars | eBay

Thanks Les. Son's wedding tomorrow so I can't use it for the luggage ...

strida 05-19-2011 12:15 AM

Merv,
For some obscure reason the RTA in NSW will not allow these on icv's.

Aussie Mike 05-19-2011 01:13 AM

I think it comes under ADR 39/69 which states: "You shall not put a nasty ass looking metal rack on the back of your car unless you are a tradie who needs to transport sewer pipes" It's there in the fine print. :p

Well they do get some things right I guess. It would look as wrong on a cobra as the little daisy holder they put in Vdubs.
