About 150km test driving over the last two weeks, sometimes running on all 8 cylinders. :(
T.L., I dropped into Doug's last Thursday after my dyno run at Errols. Saw your beast up on the hoist and Doug mentioned the blower has been removed but it made no difference. Fingers crossed it passes on the next run. Stiffy's Daytona was also out the front and I think I may have found my shade of blue - it's a BMW colour, close to Guardsman but a lot 'bluer'. Looked awesome.

About 25,000k in the 7 years it has been registered. I think Chris' (Mrs flatchat) car has been around Australia as well... Or was that the other one Chris?

Amazing variation over 12 month intervals. Now the cost per kilometer .... is another matter.

These cars that we spend so much time over deserve to be driven. I think Yve has it by a long margin!

21000km after 3 years. 11000km of that was in the first 12 months. I had 1600km on it before it was registered - I just couldn't wait!!

I was wondering about yours Geof. That is pretty good going. Like you, I drive mine to work some days. It would be interesting to ask everyone about pre-rego kms.... You might have that prize.

4000kms + on permits and track. :) More then some rego'ed cars in the last few years. Shame boys - hand over your compliance plates......
(Hijack - Sambo - My car test ran without O2 sensors without big issue - just a check light and running rich but no mis-fire, so not sure if that would be it??)

I look forward to the time when I can drive to work daily which is 100 km return and chuck groceries and a bag of chook feed in the boot when I want. I definately don't want a sunday car. The paint job will possibly be ordinary (maybe done with a butter knife) and the car often never washed. Bugs plastered to the front and stone chips from our crap roads and the always uncovered quarry trucks.
|
My first trip (with rego) WAS up to the local rural buying service to buy a bag of chook feed:LOL: into the boot it went.....got a lot of funny looks
I've been regoed a bit over a month, still under 1000km on the clock, with a stone chip to go with every bluddy one of them

Chook food, stone chips in 1000 kms ... Greg are you looking after that car? It may need to be re-possessed.
|
Merv,
Just a little behind you with 8200km since December 2009 and plenty of stone chips worn with honor as well. Probably could have been more except for all the NQ rain.

Don't listen to them Greg, just budget a new paint job every three years  I've got a nice fat stone chip on the scuttle, nothing one can do short of wrapping the whole car in 3M film.
Cheers

Similar Lionel. Mine was August 09. On the stone chips, this classic photo of a Cobra always stuck with me, with the dirt, chips and the bugs:

And Greg - about that chicken food ... I seem to recall some story about a Texan chicken farmer and a Cobra ...

Merv, that looks a lot like a 3D computer render, or at least the background is. Those maple leaves certainly look out of place. Nicely done though.
