How many kilometres have you done in your Cobra?

I think I already know the winner of this 'event'. But we all have the question asked of us, "How often do you drive it?" So how many k's have you done?

Mine is a puny 9,000.

Krait 06-13-2011 03:18 AM

4400km. Not likely to increase much now as we're back off overseas shortly.

Cheers

Mando 06-13-2011 03:23 AM

Hi Merv. My Cobra has covered 730 kms. Unforntunately that was all done on the Dyno.

Regards.

Mrs flatchat 06-13-2011 03:28 AM

Since 1995 just on 200,000 klms -- tho' doesn't get used much these days

Merv and Sharon 06-13-2011 03:35 AM

Evie (sorry if spelling is wrong) but you have done 200,000???

spookypt 06-13-2011 03:45 AM

boxhead 06-13-2011 04:47 AM

I managed 10000kls in first 12 months.
I am at about 11500 now

Outwest34au 06-13-2011 04:50 AM

1.2 km, (less than 1 mile in old speak)

My time will come.

Merv and Sharon 06-13-2011 04:56 AM

Big variations. Dave I thought you would get the gong but Mrs Flatchat seems to have the edge ...

Wazza 06-13-2011 04:59 AM

Chris's ( and Yve's ) 200,000 klms over 16 years should have most of us covered.......

I drove my Black/Yellow Cobra almost every day I owned it...couldn't get enough of it....and managed about 140,000 klms in the 6 years I owned it.

(and I've racked up quite a few "Track " Kilometers in the Red Race car)

Hopefully I'll be just as keen when the new one finally gets going.

Cheers,
Warren.

Actually this could be a good guide to which cars to buy second hand ...

boxhead 06-13-2011 05:03 AM

I will try harder Merv, although I am many years behind Yve.

Outwest34au 06-13-2011 05:04 AM

Last time I spoke with Paul Wolley (or is it Wooley??) he mentined a vehicle of his construction had 240,000 km on it.
Not to detract from Mrs Flatchat at all, as 200,000 is a true demostration of passion for any motor vehicle of this sort.

I look forward to the time when I can drive to work daily which is 100 km return and chuck groceries and a bag of chook feed in the boot when I want. I definately don't want a sunday car. The paint job will possibly be ordinary (maybe done with a butter knife) and the car often never washed. Bugs plastered to the front and stone chips from our crap roads and the always uncovered quarry trucks.

But as long a I get 30 smiles to the gallon I will be stoked.

Maybe not....

I had racked up the 140,000 klms, but when I sold the car it had very few kilometers on the engine, and many other parts had low "ish" kilometers.

i.e. during the 6 years I owned it, I had upgraded just about every nut and bolt, and it had a completely new leather interior and boot trim.
It had twice the horsepower than it had in 2003, and it was in WAY better condition than it had been 6 years earlier, when it had done very few kilometers.

I could have parked it most days, driven it only on a nice Sunday occasionally, and it wouldn't have been anywhere near as good.

It all depends on what has been done to the car, and the quality of the upgrades I guess.

Philm 06-13-2011 06:01 AM

8000kms in 9years.

Phil

Beejay 06-13-2011 06:17 AM

About 14,000 in two years I guess.

Not enough!

Mando, 750 km on the dyno!

Ben

BJ's Snake 06-13-2011 03:43 PM

14000k in 5 years but I will blame Canberra winters and no roof or heater for the lack of miles.

Cheers

ptrefry 06-13-2011 05:19 PM

2000 km in 3 years ,sad but true.

Merv and Sharon 06-13-2011 05:48 PM

I agree Warren, most cars are continually re-furbished and I would rather buy a well used one than one with little use. You know it works! My 9000ks in almost two years is doing OK then. I generally get it fired up about 4 times week and it goes to work sometimes as well. Not as many washes or polishes as it deserves, however, it is well used.

T.L. 06-13-2011 06:07 PM

900km's mostly to and from emissions testing, one more to go hopefully!!!!!!!!!!!!
