Superformance Cobra for sale
Well, after much deliberation I have decided to sell my Superformance Cobra to fund another project.
My cobra was a no compromise build 3 years ago and she's been meticulously maintained ever since...She's a very nice Cobra and a good fit for someone wanting a new high quality Cobra but would prefer not to wait. Some of you will know her, but for those that don't, the workshop that installed the LS7, T56 transmision and traction control posted a couple of youtube videos as follows: YouTube - LS7 SUPERFORMANCE COBRA YouTube - LS7 427 AC COBRA If there is anyone genuinely interested, please PM me with your phone number and I'll give you a call. Regards...Paul |
Hi Paul,
Best of luck with both the sale and pending project. You did such a nice job on this one I can hardly wait to see you get stuck into your next project. Kindest regards & many thx, Anth |
Lovely car with tasteful finish. Seems to have attracted a lot of nasty commentary on the first UTube post, about the Chevrolet motor.
How did traction control get fitted to a Cobra? Did SF design a system? |
This is an outstanding Cobra and everything is of the highest quality, I know it will make the next owner very happy and certainly wont be looking for power or having to change anything. Awesome car.
I'm sure the tyre kicker mornings will continue and looking forward to the next one. Traction control is racelogic and is adjustable. |
What a nice car!!!
Noticed a few changes between the vids. Steering wheel change, side pipes change, pod induction location change... All good! |
Good luck with the sale Paul.
It is a beautiful car that video and photos do no justice to. Whoever purchases the car will not be disappointed. |
Thanks for the kind comments guys. I must admit that I really have mixed feelings about selling her, but I've made the call, so we'll see what happens!
Merv - The whole GM vs Ford and Cobra heritage argument has been around for years and will no doubt continue for years to come - I'm sure most of the negative comments will have come from the US where they do not understand the licensing challenges we face in Aus...We Aussies have a bit more of a pragmatic view on life. I'm neither a Ford guy nor a GM guy - I just love classic cars...especially Cobra's...always have and I suspect always will! The Traction Control system as Andy advised is a "Race Logic" system that has launch control and is adjustable (via a remote digital adjuster) in 1% increments from 0% up to 25%. (See - Racelogic - Experts in data logging, video logging & GPS) I must admit that having the traction control system is probably overkill for me, but at the time I decided to fit it, I saw it as a bit of insurance considering I was installing a 500hp crate motor in a Cobra and I really did not know just how good the traction would be! In actual fact, the traction is amazing without it and in hindsight, not having it would have been fine - But it is certainly a "nice to have" and it does give you some comfort! No doubt there'll be some far more skilled drivers out there with bigger balls than me scoffing at having Traction Control in a Cobra, but I don't lose any sleep over their perspectives. HSVREDSLED - The sidepipes and steering wheel changes were 2 of a few changes that I made from the standard Superformance spec roller. The induction pod in the first YouTube posting was just a temporary air filter position for the engine install, run-in and dyno-tune stage. Regards....Paul |
Yes Paul it is a beautifully built and presented car. That is very interesting about the possibility of fitting traction control. I thought that it couldn't be done. Best wishes with the sale.

What happend Paul? Filled up the shed with another Mustang? Good luck with the sale.
|
Thanks Mitch - what is it about Cobras and Mustangs? - I've often noticed that when you see a photo of someone's Cobra on forums like this one, there is a Mustang lurking around in the garage somewhere as well!!
Yes, as you know, Mustangs feature pretty high on my "what toys to play with" list...but I've decided to sell one of my Mustangs as well! The 66 K code coupe is also for sale! It's a pretty rare (1 of 200 built in '66) numbers matching C4 auto K code coupe that has also taken me quite a while to get my head into the space of selling! Once I have sold both cars, I have an exciting next project that I'd like to pursue, but I'm trying to act all grown up and exercise that quality that has not been a strength of mine - patience!! Hope you, your family, and your business are doing well Mitch! Kind regards.....Paul |
Put a couple of pics of the Mustang/s in your gallery Paul. Interested to see.
|
There you go Merv.
Regards.....Paul |
Paul, love the Mustang. Are the wheels from Vintage Wheel Works? They look familiar. :D
|
Yes Sambo - both sets of wheels on the Mustangs are Vintage Wheel Works wheels (see Vintage Wheel Works)
- the wheels on the 66 K code coupe are a copy of the Halibrand/Cobra styled wheel (their V60 model) - the wheels on the 65 Targa coupe are a copy of the orginal Torq Thrust wheels used in the mid 60's predominantly for racing (their V45 model) The Cobra has the 17" knock on wheels that Superformance supply with their rollers. Regards...Paul |
Paul  The new project must be something really special!!!
Best of luck Trev |
Hi Paul, Its Adrian from Sydney. I'm looking to buy a cobra. I have been looking at one in the states but trying to prove what year it was made is proving to be quite hard. I like the look of your cobra and would like to know how much your asking for it? How do I PM you? I'm new to this site.
regards Adrian |
Hi Aido,
Just click on my forum name "Heidelberg" on one of my posts in this thread and you will see a drop down menu of options. One of those options will be to send me a PM (private message). Regards....Paul |
Very intersted to see what the new project is.
Must be something very special to warrant selling these 2 beauties. Good luck with the sale Paul, and dont forget us just cause you dont have a Cobra. |
