Are we in danger

Hi all,

I just spent an hour listening to a member of the Greens talking about climate change and global warming.

It is interesting to listen to a person whom supposedly understands just what is happening!!

To say that the speaker was totally out of their depth is an understatement. It appeared from the outset that this Green Party member was running out a party line.

Ok from here on we should stop eating meat as the meat industry is a huge polluter with cattle etc. polluting our environment with methane gas. Ouote they fart to much..

Importantly car enthusiasts are under attack again with these idiots trying to convince listeners that we are major polluters - no mention of the volcano that spewed out more crap in a week than the entire auto industry since 1900.

It was interesting to listen to their take on pre 2000 cars - that is anything over 10 years old should be off the road. The speaker actually question why we need cars at all.

I was dumbfounded as I listened, I looked for hidden cameras as I thought this was a hidden camera segment it was so laughable. Importantly, the speaker was getting plenty of support from the group around me.

Vegans, vegetarians and hippie types that look as if they have not worked since the 1970's.

Sad but they received press coverage that indicated that they are a silent majority and are gaining momentum.

I don't want to get Political on the Forum by this Greens group are getting one hell of a lot of support from a red in the Lodge.

If we let these idiots gain anymore control I fear we will be walking and perhaps back on all fours.

Mmmm just my little rave after listening to this dribble.

Yes I do sell meat products and I do support and industry that these idiots want stopped.

Just my $0.02 worth..

I think we're ok for a bit

As a co-worker of mine said recently

"..if god didn't want us to eat animals he wouldn't have made them so tasty..."

I'm for the free exchange of ideas

I'm also for recycling - have many recycled parts in my cobra.

Yep, I have near on stopped listening to the news Bernie.
I would seem the priminister Bob Brown and his assistant Julia will not be happy until they have brought our country to it's knees.

Merv and Sharon 08-01-2011 08:57 PM

Yeah I think that the Far Right and the Far Left/Green are there for the same reason: to make the middle ground acceptable. Neither extreme is acceptable.

sambo 08-01-2011 08:57 PM

Bernie, don't you have better things to do? :D

Pardon the pun, but the Greens have been in the wilderness for a long time. Here's Bob Brown on the record only a month ago regarding party policy...

I think danger is too strong a word.

Have we some "challenges" .. You bet, on many fronts.

boxhead 08-01-2011 09:56 PM

Peanuts, all of em, all peanuts.

That is all I will add to this political debate.

Environmentally friendly cobras

Not sure if you all know but we do own eco friendly cobra's and you need to remind any greeny that cares to listen to this fact.

Beyond the parts recycling aspect just tell them your cobra is a sustainable green car.

When they question this statement just say the cobra burns both rubber and gas so it must be eco friendly!! :p

Merv and Sharon 08-01-2011 10:54 PM

I always say that I am saving the planet. By using gas as fast as possible I bringing forward the day when there will be none, thus saving ...

letsboogie351 08-01-2011 11:01 PM

The greens would do far better convincing Joe Public to drive a Toyota Prius. That would leave a lot more fossil fuel for us!

Julia and Bob are a match made in heaven.

One..a socialist who in her youth was a member of the socialist alliance and promoted a 'super tax' to balance the classes.

The other, a loony who will support anything green regardless of the impact.

So...Julia now has her tax to support her socialist idealogy, and Bob has a ridiculous green scheme, which will do abosolutely nothing to reduce global emmissions, but can sleep easily amongst his hippy mates.

BMK 08-02-2011 02:35 AM

:JEKYLHYDE

Mmm never thought that the Greens are creating a massive work economy for all of their scientist mates. Just look around and see all the new science technology dollars being thrown at staff, buildings and reports.

Hell,..%/.. I only attended as it was promoted as a business seminar on the local economy. Hijacked.... Or maybe very smart marketing by the Greens to get business owners and others to attend.

Telling me they don't want fossil fuel coal etc burnt for power and in the next breath they don't want hydro electricity or to build dams.... Whoa, so who cares if the town of Morwell, Victoria is wiped out when the power station is closed...

Guess at the end of the day we just need to watch them. For the first time ever I am going to throw some dollars at candidates at the next election and maybe even hand out how to vote cards...;)

The one bonus is we all went off and had a four hour lunch after..long live the Liberal economy..

Seriously it is worry to see just how extreme these guys are. And they are getting airtime.

Merv and Sharon 08-02-2011 02:54 AM

It is a worry Bernie. Must be some differences between 'our' Greens and those in Europe. Greens have been the balance in German governments for years, yet their economy seems to do very well. I still think the Far Right that we see in the some countries is just as dangerous and also needs watching. These things are all a balance and change needs to be based on evidence, or else we would still be mining asbestos.

I like it when they all jump up and down, say that were using too much fossil fuels when there are alternatives etc.... then go and jump in their 6.0L Statesman.

All politicians should be driving Pruis's (or Pri-ii) not V8 if they really care about the environment.

I care, I now have 3 diesel cars totaling 10.2L and 5 petrol cars totaling 22.5L, so I am thinking of the environment, last year it was 1 diesel car @ 3.0L and 5 petrol cars @ 31L.

All politicians should be driving Pruis's (or Pri-ii) not V8 if they really care about the environment. Also, they are flying all over the countryside spruking this message, using more fuel. They should be using a hot air balloon, as all they need is to tilt their head back and start talking as that would surely be enough hot air to take them wherever they want to go. Also how many of them does it take to do a talk, I am sure that there would be at least 5 people from the office of the person that was talking going along to 'hold hands' and tell the person what a wonderful job they did in their talk...........bovine excrement to the max!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The petrol cars are the weekend cars that get used like the most of our cobra's and the diesels are the daily cars.

I once saw a tag 'my Mustang just used the petrol your Prius saved', and I like it.

BMK 08-02-2011 03:27 AM

Merv

Think your comments are spot on re the Europe experience of the Greens.

Just imagine if all of the dollars being spent by the Greens and their supporters - supporting to maintain a majority government - was spent in investigating opportunities to support our economy and promote young thinkers.:)

Chris L 08-02-2011 03:35 AM

Canberra was only ever good for porn and fireworks, and these seem to be somewhat diminished supply there these days. The sooner that big white elephant in Canberra gets levelled the better. It is a fair dinkum idiot factory with no restriction. Could not stuff a country quicker............

Bob Brown, didnt he destroy a couple of Phase 3 s at Bathurst !!!

I guess you know how I feel about our political leaders......

Cheers
Chris L

Merv and Sharon 08-02-2011 03:37 AM

Yes, I think we still have many of the 'old generation' of Greens and not the new ones who have some grounded ideas about the economy and generating some progressive new industries though incentives and investment. As long as they leave Cobras alone, they are all good.

Love TL's 22.5L of fossil fuel combustion! At least he is doing his bit.

T.L. 08-02-2011 03:59 AM

Here's something for you.

‎"The government announced today that it's changing it's emblem to a CONDOM, because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of dicks, and gives you a sense of security while you're being screwed."
