Worst case is it worth getting a new chassis fabricated by a company that can be registered?

Not sure the carby would pass muster...

Thanks very much for your replies, there is some very good information here. I did suggest to him to buy a new chassis and use all the parts on this, as it would give him a good base to start from.

If you go down the new chassis route - might be best to talk to Gforce. They may be the only ones left that used to do a crown chassis car, and as such may be best able to advise if their current chassis may fit

I would have your friend take more detail photos and then head into Federation Square this Sunday. There will be at least 20 Cobras pm display there along with owners. It would be an ideal chance to check cars out and discuss your friends project (problem)
