Cool, sounds common enough... then the next question is budget.
Low, Limited, or Infinite?
Either way, add another 30% on what you think it might be & that will cover you. ;)
PS: In my experience they are all light enough... Even the heavy ones are light.

Welcome Steve, best thing to do is join your local club in Vic (2 down there)and get to as many runs, and meetings as possible and you will see them in the flesh and can chew the owners ear off. A pictures worth a thousand words, but in person is ten fold. If you're out of Melbourne, still make the trip in a couple of times.

I started looking about 6 months ago. Visited 3 manufacturers Kenmer in Noble Park (highly recommend you talk to Marty), Classic Revival (Sydney) and RCM (Blackburn). I decided to go with Classic Revival, but you could meet all 3 (+ others) and make a different decision.

Don't forget a Factory Five in your research. There is an aussie distributor now too.

And a few in Victoria have Harrisons and could comment. Try to get along to some club meets if you haven't already. Lots of questions and photographs.

I am not sure if there are many or any on the road yet?
Looks to be a good bit of gear, but the body shape is not to my likeing (but that is a personel thing), mainly in the bum.

And Absolute Pace at the Gold Coast has a similar chassis I am told.

spoke to absolute pace via email after reding their ad i was under the impression that they had a complete car or even something under construction as they quote "the pace 427 is designed and approved for australian road use" after a chat with an engineer he advised that you must have a physical car to complete one of the tests, this is not the case very misleading advertising. i like to deal with people that are honest and dont like to be mislead. so thanks but no thanks on absolute pace.

 %/ **much inhaling of breath
Its a small community and many of the issues are not black and white when it comes to compliance, state by state variations - and sometimes timing.
On the CCCV site we have a strong recommendation that you get along to meet people who've been through the build process.
You will get a much better idea of people you might be inclined to work with from others who have had dealings with them.
... and hopefully a disinclination to veer toward assertions on propriety.
good luck with your research

I only know the owner of Absolute Pace and he is one of the most honest and helpful individuals I have met. They are just starting out and I'm sure would be worth a phone call.

I totally agree. Worth much more than a casual look.
The absolute cobra is/will be the standard most other manufactures will struggle to achieve.
Lots of technical ability, heaps of knowledge, and people who can be trusted.

Craig is about as straight as they come.
If I was to start again Absolute Pace would be on the list.

My limited dealings with Craig at Absolute Pace have been faultless. A solid recomendation for a team who are straight up great.
|
I know that Craig plays a very active role in ADR compliance for ICVs. Not just in QLD but all states. You will likely find that Craig has more knowledge and experience with ICVs than the engineer you spoke to.
