Nice looking ride.
Black & Silver stripes very classic.
Best of luck with the rego process.

I love that engine, it looks like a beast in there hiding, what are the numbers on it hp/tq, it looks like an oem fit also.

Merv and Sharon 03-13-2012 05:09 PM

Well done TL. Very nice Mustang 350 - type colours too.

Gav 03-13-2012 05:22 PM

Looking good. I am predicting that tyre smoke will not be an issue with that huffer on there!

The guys that do the supercharger unit, Harrop Engineering, quote 450kW (600HP) and 740NM (545lbft) of torque.

At the moment I don't know the current figures, but its above 330kW at the wheels. It's currently running a 4000 limiter so its running like a dog above that. On cold tyres it is a bit interesting.

The colours and stripe go with my other car, a 68 GT390 Fastback. Currently done in red with a white racing strip, but taking it back to highland green, it's original colour. The stripe came from the mustang influence.

When I had my Superformance I did alot of business with the Guys at Harrop, they sold me quite a few parts for my cobra since it used the australian gto rear end gears etc, Ive seen there gto builds, and they fly, cool car.

Loving the color scheme...looks great....what rear rubber are you going to run as that will take some technique to launch off the line...I am still mastering this with my heavy clutch:3DSMILE:

David Hodgson 04-12-2012 04:27 AM

Ice, any good Cobra driver knows........ right foot down, left foot up :3DSMILE:

ICETOO 04-12-2012 04:47 AM

HAHA...Got that Dave...its the rate of right down, left up that has me cooking the bags, but am enjoying the drifted launches some...but not very clock efficient...although frying them when out gassing a fapper in a Maloo has them tapping out pretty quick:LOL:

....but most offthe time I do not bother...as we have nothing to prove in these cars...we look, sound and go better....and everyone seems to love a cobra...irrespective of major car manufacturer brand preference.

HUH ?

ICETOO 04-12-2012 05:13 AM

No stress ....Not on the street Rob...that would be irresponsible.....anyhow going back on topic, what rear rubber would be recommended on T.L's vehicle without the assistance of modern traction control and stability control.

I am running Kuhmo Exsta 315/35 R17, even then the car tends to get a bit tail happy until the tyres are warmed up, then the grip is pretty good.

Clutch is not the problem, getting use to the box, tend to find 3rd when I want 1st a bit, but that will get better with the k's I drive in it, but then as soon as it's in 5th, you dont need to change it anymore on the open road, the power and response is quite exceptional.

macloft 04-12-2012 09:50 PM

Would finding 1st be that important with 545ftlb. I would think 3rd on upwards would be all you need:eek:

Even in mine, Ist is a handy Gadget for heavy traffic just to edge along on the idle...but agreed that amount of torque is remarkable...and thanks for the rubber guidance T.L.

285 on my 15"s is about as fat as I think I can squeeze in with my set up...anyone tried the BF Goodrich Drag TA's.....
