Goodyear Eagle 'Cobra' Tyres

Im in the market for a set of Goodyear Billboard style tyres. I know where i can buy them new, but though i might as well see if anybody has a set they want to move before i buy them new. If i have no luck, i will probably bring some over from RKR in the states, so if anybody else wants a set, let me know and maybe we can get a discount on a couple of sets.

I would be keen to hear a price on a set of billboards in Australia.

mickmate 04-19-2012 07:09 PM

There is a dealer for them in Oz. I don't know how he compares to shipping costs from US.

Merv and Sharon 04-19-2012 07:13 PM

Are these only available for smaller rim sizes? What about 17"?

GBowman 04-19-2012 07:55 PM

No way...it's Tires not Tyres...just kidding couldn't help myself. Good luck!

Shelby400 04-19-2012 08:24 PM

I'm interested in a set as well.

Guys,

I have a set of Billboards that are new BUT 3 years old, they do have a set of Halibrands 6 pins with them.

Was keeping them as spares for the Kirkham.

PM is interested.

Soulman.

Struth Mr Bowman !Look I know you don't know what side of the road to drive but crikey mate you know the language IS E n g l i s h . Oxford ENGLISH Dictionary spells it as TYRES. Jeez mate get with the program :D

Merv and Sharon 04-20-2012 05:21 AM

I think I can answer my own question. They only come in 15", have no speed rating and maybe therefore uninsurable, by some reports?

400TT 04-20-2012 06:15 AM

Merv, yes 15' only, Billboards are not street tyres, not street legal...but oh so very cool. I love them and have a few sets here. :)

Dimis 04-20-2012 07:43 AM

I'd be keen to hear a price...
Not being dot legal is a bit of a shame.

It means they're pure track or show.
Pitty cos they're unrivalled for look on cobra.

Merv and Sharon 04-20-2012 02:14 PM

Thanks Craig. Yes they look really good, but for my next set of 17's ... not much value really. So, the jury is still out. I have had good experience with the Sumitomos for street use. Any other suggestions?

gjkrv8 04-20-2012 03:54 PM

Merv I had the sumitomos and the rears lasted 9000 K's(funny about that). I put on some Kumho KU36's - got em from Tireack. OK on street and track. Cheers Gregg

Merv and Sharon 04-20-2012 03:57 PM

Thanks Gregg. Mine are 14,000 and have embarassingly about 5000 more - maybe. They were from tire rack too. Will check out your suggestion.

boxhead 04-20-2012 05:12 PM

Craig, Do you have any "worn out" Billboards?
As I wouldnt mind trying a set on my rims to be sure they will fit before spending the coin on new tyres.

nicho 04-23-2012 03:05 PM

I've got a set of Billboards with about 100 miles on them for sale if anyone is interested, PM me .
