Dave's Classic Revival CR3514
Howdy folks,
Havent posted awhile, I'm on a 8/6 roster at the moment giving me little time at home, but i have been making some progress. Heres some rear brake pics and i also mounted up the front sway bar which required some fiddling around as the parts fit differently to whats depicted in the manual. Your eye for detail is very impressive. It irks me though that you are using the same calipers as I have on the front on your rear! |

The rear calipers are CP5147's, not the 5200. The selection was chosen in discusions with Racebrakes in Melbourne based on weight & distribution to be parred with CP5200 4 pots on the front, however, in discussions with AP Racing in the UK, they suggested the CP5570 6 pots would be a better match and feel, so thats the way i have gone. There is no booster, so feel and effort was a concern for me. Dave |

Very similar to mine Dave with same shocks. AR on the front only in my case.

Below is a link to the exact same item, i bought an auction listing, but this is a buy it now listing, Also used it on my steering rack boots, the bands are pretty good quality. CV JOINT BOOT BANDING CUTTING TOOL& 10SETS CLAMPS | eBay I'll be fitting up the fronts this weekend when i get home, more posting soon. Thanks for the information Dave. In their description of the kit I think they refer to the bands as "steel". Are your bands stainless steel?

Yes Dave. Happy with the ride/handling balance with the QA1s. Took some fiddling to get the right rebound/compression settings. If too high and you can get a high frequency squeak. I have some correspondence on that if you want it, but no drama. Also worked well with the corner weighting.

Mando, I had a look at them tonight when i got home, i'm pretty sure they are stainless, i cant find anything written on anything, but they definately have that look and finish of polished stainless. Very easy to use tool, bands look heaps better than zip ties. Dave |
Finished off my front caliper brackets this morning and mounted up the APs for a test fit,

Very neat Dave. I found that they were easy to fit but one had to work at bleeding them properly. Performance-wise the AP setup is terrific.

Hi Dave, the banding tool arrived the other day but I can't work out how to use the tool properly. What does the lever at the front of the tool do? I've already destroyed 2 of the smaller bands practicing!

Hey Mando, G'day,
I'll take some pics in the morning, the instructions are crap with the kit but pretty simple, Undo the strap all the way, then wrap around the boot and thread the strap end through the eyelet on the strap head, then slide the end of the strap through the end of the tool through the first winder (cutter) then through the second winder. wind up the second winder until its tightened the strap, just snug, not to tight. rotate the whole tool back to front bending the strap back over the top of itself. rotate the first winder which cuts the strap to length. Remove the tool. Bend over the holding taps over the top of the strap to hold in place. I'll send a few pics to make it clear. Dave |

Sounds just like a 'band-it' tool.
We use the 1/2" strap for all sorts of fixings. |
