That just demontrates how out of touch with reality you ford guys are!

5.0 ho

Nice looking car, shame they went to the common modern interior which looks cheap.

Merv and Sharon 05-29-2012 04:13 PM

It is priced on the provenance (or assumed anyway) of the Autokraft construction in the 80's.

Dimis 05-29-2012 04:15 PM

Judging by the art work in the background, I'm betting that car is offered for sale at Duttons.

Same crew had a kirkham with old suspension on offer for $300K if memory serves.
& a Robnell with red interior for I believe over $100K

The asking prices on their inventory is most always at the higher end of the scale. %/

Great Asp 05-29-2012 04:51 PM

Yeah, it's an AutoKraft car, and correctly a 5.0 motor.

I've seen these get prices higher than what I would pay, but unless it has some history that would command the money (like if it was Jack Roush's go to church every Sunday car, etc...) I do not think they will get the $175 large.

I would not even pay 175f for that car with that engine, plus the steering wheel is on the wrong side, lol.

Duttons

Guy's,

Its Duttons, another CC member and I saw this car a couple of years ago in the same showroom, the salesperson said it was a genuine Cobra, the owners......

We had a quick look ( couldnt see the donk ) its a nice car, $80/90k mark I would say.......

I love the black wheels and the way it sits, but $175 may be a bit rich! %/

Regards.

Originally imported and converted to RHD up here in QLD by Old Timer Australia. Just found the link to it: Oldtimer Australia, classic cars, racing cars, sports cars » 1987 AC Cobra, MK IV

Yes it is a genuine, a genuine Autokraft. They are an interesting part of the Cobra story.

Just wish Autokraft had not needed to tweak the body shape etc, as you could convert it back into a MKIII Cobra replica as there is an original style chassis under there. It's also just new enough to be ADR 37/00 emissions which is a bugger, it would be better if it was ADR 27 emissions. But would changing it hurt it's perceived value as an Autokraft.

Mando, I'm with you, the black duco, black interior & black wheels and a great stance. Very nice look for a replica. And that is one of the best Autokraft's I have seen, certainly also helped by 15" wheels and other mods.

For 20K less you could have this.....but I'm not sure that makes handing over that sorta coin any easier...

Nice car, love the engine there. A build can get close to that figure I guess.

nicho 05-30-2012 05:13 AM

The Autokraft is a great looking car, looks even better with the billboards on it, got to be worth 20k more than the Robnell.

Did you notice the seller Matt?

spookypt 05-30-2012 11:13 PM

Yeeeup!

400TT 05-31-2012 12:47 AM

Spookypt, commission cheque will be in the mail once it sells. :)

Merv, Yes, I am the one selling it, the owner has moved overseas. It's a beautifully built car with a lot of premium parts used.

I am hoping we have the pricing to move it on quickly.

If you seriously want to sell a vehicle at the moment you need to be very realistic in your pricing.

A factory big block Robnell is a rare car.

An Autokraft is also unique.

Both Cobra's are nice cars and both would be a pleasure to own.

But in my opinion the market isn't what it used to be...not even close.

Merv and Sharon 05-31-2012 02:48 AM

The 40 looks great value Craig. I was referring to the seller of the Robnell.
